CAMPING is used by many to switch off and disconnect from the outside world for a while.
Many don’t take much, but one woman has shared that she does, in fact, take everything but the kitchen sink.
A mum has stunned people by revealing her glam camping set-up for the summer holidays[/caption] They took electricals such as a TV and fridge[/caption]Uploading videos under the username @jodie._e on TikTok, Jodie posted a clip of her family’s camping set-up for their holiday in Devon.
Outside, the mum had set up a table and chairs, an umbrella, and a portable barbeque.
“We’ve got a couple [of] different bits this time,” she said as she ventured into the tent and panned the camera.
Inside was a shoe rack, a small cupboard topped with a toaster and a microwave, and a sofa.
She added there was a small porta-potty “for desperate measures.”
“So this is [supposed to be] to be two bedrooms but I make it one big one,” she explained, showing the two double mattresses in separate areas of the tent.
She said she did this so she could hang things up in the wardrobe she had set up as a partition for them.
Jodie added having the wardrobe, which featured hangers and more space for shoes, was “so handy.”
Just outside one of the bedroom areas, the family have a fridge and a TV on a stand, which she said was meant to be another bedroom though they used it as a living room space.
The tent their family have is the Berghaus Telstar 8 Nightfall Air Tent which can be bought from Amazon for a whopping £1,049.
In the comments, people were critical of how Jodie and her family had decided to camp.
One person penned: “I will never understand this style of camping …”
“Jesus, leave the TV at home ffs. The bloody news or whatever crap you watch will still be there when you return,” another fumed.
“Oh my days I could be abroad in an all-inclusive by the time it takes you to set this up! As lovely as it looks though [red heart emoji],” a third commented.
“I honestly thought camping meant you go somewhere secluded to get in touch with nature, leaving the creature comforts behind,” a fourth wrote.
“Two hours lol. Get a plane to Spain,” someone else said.
However, others were more supportive.
“I think people don’t understand the difference between camping and bushcraft survival camping.
“There’s no one way to camp,” somebody wrote.
A second said: “Some set up!!! Camping has clearly evolved! Ha!
“Wish I had all that stuff when we went camping back in the day. (Tbf, it was 40 years ago!) – Damn I’m getting old! Ha.”
“Love it. That’s my kind of camping [hearts around face emoji],”

In reply to one troll’s comment, Jodie made a video and defended how they camp, even calling it “glamping.”
“People can do it however they want to, and no one else has to understand it,” she says.
She added if they wanted to go stay in a lodge they would, and they could afford to go abroad but choose not to.
“Everyone can do their own thing, and if it’s not for you, you can just scroll past.
“You do it how you like to do it, and we’ll do it how we like to do it.”
