THE summer holidays can be an expensive time, with the cost of the kids’ extra meals quickly mounting up.
But by making an easy swap parents could save themselves £160 this summer and save themselves time.
By swapping to canned food you could save £160 this summer[/caption]Canned food initiative, Love Canned Food, is helping busy parents keep on top of their summer budget with easy food swaps that’ll help cut the food bill down by 31%, and all by doing one simple thing – choosing canned.
Simple switches, such as choosing canned fruit, veg, beef and fish, can save families up to £160 over the summer break, a significant saving as the average family of four splashes £129 a week on a food shop.
The canned connoisseurs have compared a list of 25 popular household food products, revealing that canned alternatives are often much better value, with over two thirds coming in at a fraction of the cost.
In fact, canned food trumps fresh when it comes to value and taste too.
In a blind taste test by Manchester Metropolitan University, which pitched recipes made with fresh ingredients against those made with canned ingredients, found that in over half of cases canned was as good if not better tasting than fresh.
Meaning families can cut costs with canned whilst still enjoying the same great taste of homecooked family meals.
Along with food lover and influencer, Ashleigh Mogford, Love Canned Food is sharing new and exciting recipes that’ll get the tastebuds drooling.
