THERE’S a pretty village in England that’s played a starring role in hit TV shows like Killing Eve and the Vicar of Dibley.
Located in Buckinghamshire, Turville is often overlooked as a holiday destination in favour of places like Aylesbury and High Wycombe.

Even though the village is hugely popular among holidaymakers, it is home to several quaint tourist attractions.
Surrounded by the greenery of the Chiltern Hills, it comes as no surprise to find that Turville has provided the backdrop for films and television shows.
For example, the picturesque English village was the rural setting for The Vicar of Dibley and Killing Eve,
Holidaymakers who have a passion for films should head to Cobstone Windmill – a small white windmill that featured in the much-loved film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, starring Dick Van Dyke.
There are other filming locations in the tiny village too, including St Mary the Virgin Church, which doubled as St Barnabas Church in the Vicar of Dibley, featuring Dawn French.
Other television shows like Midsomer Murders, Jonathan Creek and Miss Marple were also filmed in Turville.
The tiny English village only has one pub called the Bull & Butcher.
Serving a range of pies and real ales, the half-timbered pub fits perfectly in its countryside setting.
As it’s the only pub in the village, it can get quite busy, so visitors are recommended to head there early in a bid to avoid disappointment.
There’s also the Barn at Turville Heath – a car-free cafe that serves drinks and snacks to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Further afield, there are plenty of other pubs including The Frog Inn, and The Chequers Inn, both of which are accessible via a 3.5mile walking route from Turville.
Turville is a 20-minute drive from High Wycombe.

The church lies in the heart of the town and is surrounded by a churchyard dotted with graves, tombs, and 99 Yew trees.
