Following the shocking scenes, next week will see Reiss – played by Jonny Freeman – come face-to-face with his in-laws.
Actress Nichola McAuliffe, who was the voice of James Bond’s BMW in Tomorrow Never Dies, will play Debbie’s mother Brenda.
The 68-year-old also starred in ITV‘s hospital sitcom Surgical Spirit as Sheila Sabatini.
Portraying Debbie’s father is Michael Bertenshaw, best known for The Da Vinci Code.
A synopsis for the tense scenes reads: “The net is closing in on Reiss as he comes face-to-face with his in-laws next week following Debbie’s death.
“With Reiss currently hiding a killer secret, he will undoubtably have a lot of questions to answer, but he first needs to overcome the hurdle that Debbie’s parents have no idea about Sonia’s existence, or that she is Reiss’ new girlfriend…”
Viewers know Reiss has been stealing Debbie’s money for her care home fees to fund IVF with Sonia Fowler.
And with Sonia now pregnant, he has become obsessed with funding both their lives and Debbie’s care.
He managed to successfully scam Sharon out of an eye-watering £13,000 to pay for Debbie’s backdated care home fees.
