A CLASSIC Jaguar E-Type and a Rolls-Royce have been re-discovered together in a barn – having been tucked away for nearly four decades.
The iconic vehicles, which both require complete restorations, are being put up for sale at the Oulton Park Gold Cup this month courtesy of Hampson Auctions – providing a unique opportunity for classic car aficionados.

But an attempted theft while it was parked outside a Woolworths shop prompted the owner to store it away for safekeeping.
Since then, the car has remained untouched.
The E-Type was produced by Jaguar from 1961 until 1974 before it was replaced by the XJ-S.
Today, it’s widely considered one of the greatest sports cars ever made and is a huge favourite among petrolheads.
It’s particularly favoured for its stunning aesthetics, with Enzo Ferrari – the founder of Ferrari – reportedly calling it “the most beautiful car ever made”.
The listing adds that shortly after the Jaguar was stashed away, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow joined it in the barn.
Known for its luxurious design and smooth ride, the Silver Shadow remains a symbol of prestige.
Like the Jaguar, it too has waited for nearly 40 years to see the light of day again.
Hampson Auctions has revealed that detailed descriptions and professional photographs of both vehicles will be made available shortly.
Despite its lenghty spell off the road, the E-Type still boats over 80,000 miles on its odometer.
The listing fails to state a price for the two motors, although considering their history they could fetch an eye-watering sum – despite each needing plenty of work done to them.
This comes after a rust-bucket sports car that was left to rot in a barn for 60 years was discovered – and it’s worth almost £100,000.
