Sex And The City fans were in raptures when Kim Cattrall resurrected sassy Samantha Jones for spin-off And Just Like That.
But despite claims her surprise cameo in series two could lead to a full return, Kim has dashed all hopes.
Kim Cattrall has confirmed she won’t be making a full return as sassy Samantha Jones in Sex And The City spin-off And Just Like That[/caption]Sharing an online news story suggesting she is back in the TV rom com, she wrote: “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not.”
Kim played sexually empowered publicist Samantha during the original HBO show’s six seasons from 1998 to 2004, as well as in the two films in 2008 and 2010.
But behind-the-scenes differences with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker kept her away from the first series of And Just Like That.
It doesn’t seem her 73 seconds on series two healed any wounds.
Fans were crushed when it was announced that Kim Cattrall would not be reprising her Sex and the City role during And Just Like That’s first season.
Instead, she was working on a new role for the How I Met Your Mother reboot, How I Met Your Father.
During that time, she also revealed on the Women’s Prize for Fiction podcast that she wasn’t interested in portraying the role of Samantha Jones again.
“I wouldn’t be any good doing something that I really didn’t want to do,” she said at the time.
Cattrall’s comments came as a shock to fans, and they were even more confused after it was revealed that she would be reprising her role in the Season 2 finale.
