STACEY Solomon has revealed that she has been “shamed” by fans for her green pond.
The mum-of-five, who lives at her dream £1.2million home, ‘Pickle Cottage‘, sprawled across 2.5 acres of land, with husband Joe Swash and their brood, has clapped back at haters that have attacked her for her algae covered pond.
Stacey, who made a name for herself after her X Factor stint, is now known as one of the most warm and relatable celebrities in the UK – and shared that she hasn’t kept on top of looking after her pond.
The Loose Women and Sort Your Life Out star, who recently added two rescue ducks, Daisy & Delilah Solomon-Swash, to her brood, took to social media to show off her garden.
But eagle-eyed fans spotted the mother’s green pond, and were keen to flag this.
While making a living as a relatable mum-of-five to Zachary, 16, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, Rose, two and one-year-old Belle, Stacey took to her Instagram stories to address the hate.
Posting on social media, she wrote: ‘Can we stop pond shaming me now’ and said: “I am just being pond shamed left, right and centre.”
Stacey then admitted: “My pond is green, ok.
“It’s in the sun all day and it grows algae which makes it green.
“I am going to put a filter in there but I haven’t done it yet so it’s just a bit green.”
The 34-year-old claimed that her pond is “perfectly safe” and her ducks are big fans.
She added: “There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s perfectly safe and fine.
“The ducks love it in fact – they eat all the algae and the bugs that are in there.
“But all of you are like ‘eww, why is your pond so green?’.”
Stacey clapped back: “Ponds are green. Unless they’ve got loads of established plants which filter through the greenness, or unless it’s dyed, some people dye their ponds different colours, or a filter.
“I will have a filter in there eventually but I just haven’t done it yet.”
STACEY Solomon splashed out a massive £1.2million on Pickle Cottage - and Joe Swash didn't put in a penny.
She solely stumped up the cash for their Tudor-style Essex property, which is set in 2.5 acres and boasts an outdoor swimming pool.
The former X Factor star and Joe live there with Zachary, Leighton, Rex, Rose, and Belle.
It’s not known why Stacey went alone, as ex-EastEnders actor Joe is reportedly worth over £1million, but has also been made bankrupt twice in 2009 and 2013.
Shrewd Stacey has shown she’s a dab hand at running a wide range of successful businesses including TV, books, clothing and homeware ranges.
Her main firm Key Map Entertainments is worth just shy of £3million – and she’s also branched out into cosmetics.
The former X Factor contestant registered the company Belle & Rose Ltd, named after her youngest two daughters.
It comes after Stacey recently introduced two new ducks to her family, as the star beamed: “So our ducks are gorgeous feather girlies and now finally we can name them.
“Honestly these little duckies have brought so much joy to our lives.
“They’re so loving and cuddly and just the most amazing addition to our family!
“Can’t wait to complete Pickle Cottage pond and maybe adopt some more feathered friends.
“Things are starting to get a little more even around Pickle Cottage.
“Six boys, five girls now counting all dogs, ducks and humans!”
The busy mum was thrilled with her new pets, but admitted that she hadn’t got their pond ready for their arrival as she had been busy filming and working away from home.
She laughed: “The pond’s not finished but we’ve got extra ducks.”
