DEMOCRATS are even more worried for this year’s election after a reportedly disastrous Zoom call with President Joe Biden that occurred just hours before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
A group of at least 50 moderate Capitol Hill Democrats jumped on a call with the White House Saturday to express growing concerns for Biden’s chances in this year’s presidential election.
The call came hours before the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania – which resulted in increased support for the former president – with a Biden supporter saying it was the “worst thing that could have possibly happened,” according to Puck.
The Dems called the meeting to express growing concern for the president’s ability to win the election due to worries about his age and competency following a nightmare debate against Trump.
Biden mumbled and trailed off his sentences during the debate – and sources told Puck that his behavior was no better during the call.
“The call was even worse than the debate,” an anonymous source who was on the call told the outlet.
“He was rambling; he’d start an answer then lose his train of thought, then would just say, ‘Whatever.’
“He really couldn’t complete an answer. I lost a ton of respect for him.”
At least three participants on the call confirmed that Biden’s demeanor in the meeting was “rambling” and “dismissive of concerns.”
The unnamed party members said that supporters were ready to publicly call for Biden to step down – but then the shooting occurred.
Shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, killed one rally attendee and shot Trump in the ear, with two other victims critically wounded.
Crooks was killed by Secret Service agents after opening fire on the former president from a vantage point on a nearby roof.
Biden called Trump after the shooting and shared his concern for the former president.
“There’s no place at all for violence in politics in America. We’ve reached a point where it’s become too commonplace,” he said Monday.
Democrats who attended the Zoom call told Puck that the assassination attempt took the focus off of the push for Biden to drop out of the race.
“Had the assassination attempt not occurred an hour later, I imagine 50 people on that Zoom were ready to come out publicly against him,” a member of Congress told the outlet.
The Congress member also spoke of a fiery exchange that Biden reportedly had with Representative Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger who was awarded a Bronze Star after three tours in the Middle East.
Crow asked Biden about the importance of national security to voters, which led the commander-in-chief to fire back.
“First of all, I think you’re dead wrong on national security,” Biden reportedly said to Crow.
President Joe Biden's gaffes have increased at an alarming rate over the past few years.
“You saw what happened recently in terms of the meeting we had with Nato. I put Nato together.
“Name me a foreign leader who thinks I’m not the most effective leader in the world on foreign policy.
“Tell me! Tell me who the hell that is!”
He then reportedly dished out a personal insult to the politician, saying, “Tell me something you’ve never done with your Bronze Star like my son.”
The exchange has brought backlash online and calls for his resignation.
Democrats upset after the call aren’t the only ones with concerns for Biden’s run as Congressman Adam Schiff became the 20th Democrat to publicly call for Biden to drop out of the presidential race.
Schiff, who is running for US Senate in California, said he has “serious concerns” that Biden could beat Trump come November.

In his statement to the Los Angeles Times, the Democrat called Biden “one of the most consequential presidents in our nation’s history, and his lifetime of service as a Senator, a Vice President, and now as President has made our country better.”
“But our nation is at a crossroads,” he said.
“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.”
Schiff said it’s time for Biden to “pass the torch” and “secure his legacy of leadership” by stepping down.
Biden told The New York Times that he’d consider dropping out of the race if a “medical condition” was diagnosed by doctors.
Meanwhile, a group of Democrats is reportedly working together in a “committee to unelect the president” following his first debate.
In a blunder, Biden said that he’d drop from the presidential race if “everyone says we want someone else.”
