WETHERSPOONS is making a major change at hundreds of its pubs next week – and sports fans will be delighted.
The vast majority of its 801 pubs across the country will be screening the 2024 Paris Olympics, which starts on Friday, July 26.
Wetherspoons, which has 801 pubs across the country, confirmed that only a handful of their boozers would not televise the Games due to not having screens.
A spokesman for the boozer said: “Wetherspoons pubs will be showing the Olympics.
“So wherever your local is, you won’t miss out on the events in Paris.”
While the 33rd Summer Olympic Games officially begins next Friday with the opening ceremony, events such as football will begin on July 24, while archery starts on July 25.
So make sure you double check when your favourite event will be televised before heading to your local Spoons.
The Olympics will be broadcast live on the BBC for free, so you can check your TV schedule to find out what’s happening and when.
The huge event in France will conclude on Sunday, August 11.
It comes after Wetherspoons screened all of England and Scotland‘s Euro 2024 matches earlier this month.

Sports fans heading to Spoons to watch the games will be able to enjoy a selection of international drinks from the country competing in the tournament.
Plus, food will be served until 11pm, including burgers, pizzas and a range of small plates.
Prices do tend to vary from pub to pub so it’s always best to check your local before paying.
Every year, Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.
It usually takes place in September, and last year it fell on Thursday, September 14.
As well as its 12-day Real Ale Festival every Autumn, Wetherspoons also holds a Spring Festival.
Wetherspoons is known for its meal deal offers that run all week long.
These include Tuesday’s Steak Club, Thursday’s Curry Club and Fish Friday.
For example, a standard curry club meal with an alcoholic drink is between £8.55 and £9.19.
Outside of the deal, you would expect to pay around a fiver more for the same meal.
You can enjoy bottomless brews all day in participating Wetherspoons pubs by buying one hot drink.
The offer includes Tetley tea and a range of Lavazza coffee including a flat white, latte, cappuccino, and Americano.
Prices start from just 99p but they can vary depending on your location.
Elsewhere, Spoons boss Tim Martin exclusively revealed to The Sun why its prices are so cheap.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Sir Tim Martin busted the urban myth that Wetherspoons’ drinks are so cheap because it buys short-dated beer that is about to go off.
Sir Tim expressed his frustration with the myth, revealing one of his doctors even repeated the lie to him.
The boozer boss instead said that Wetherspoons was able to sell beer and spirits so cheaply because it bought and sold in bigger quantities than anyone else.
Plus, work on its “Super Spoons” in Newcastle is now underway which will include a 26-bedroom hotel and a 3,000 sq ft beer garden.
Sir Tim told The Sun that he was now planning to ramp up Super Spoons by making existing sites even bigger.
“We are probably going to enlarge 40 or 50 more of our pubs over the next few years, in a similar style to Ramsgate and Newcastle”, he said.
The pub chain has also recently slashed the price of four breakfast staples across dozens of pubs.
It is offering discounted sausages, bacon, hash browns and eggs across 78 boozers in London.
Hungry punters can snap up four different breakfast options for £2.99 instead of up to £5.41 – 45% off.
The offer is running indefinitely with Wetherspoons yet to announce an end date.
The four savoury options include the small breakfast, small vegetarian breakfast, vegan breakfast and freedom breakfast.
