WITH the Euro 2024 final this Sunday, a Harry Kane doppelgänger has revealed what it’s really like to look like the country’s captain.
Danny Bullen, 32, from Bradford, was recently crowned ‘the ultimate lookalike’, due to his striking similarity to Harry Kane, 30.
Over 1,000 fans poured in to vote from eight lookalikes in a public voting poll on the @theboxbaruk Instagram, with other shortlisted entries including the likes of Jack Grealish, Gary Neville, and Erling Haaland.
The six foot man, who works as Head of Sales at Hope Park Workspaces, shared that not only is he regularly stopped in the street as a result of his resemblance to the football legend, but he’s constantly asked for selfies too.
If that wasn’t enough, Danny shared that people will even buy him drinks and pick him up when England score.
But despite this, Danny revealed that things aren’t always rosy when he’s watching football in bars and pubs – and when England are losing, he often gets the brunt of it.
Despite this, Danny explained that he takes it as a compliment when he is compared to the Bayern Munich player, as he told Fabulous: “He’s an all right looking lad, isn’t he? So I don’t mind it.
“I get comments about how I look like Harry Kane all the time, so I’m finally embracing it now.
“I find it quite fun. I get it quite a lot, some people go absolutely mad for it.”
Danny shared that six years ago, he actually pocketed some cash for his resemblance to the striker.
He revealed: “My friends dressed me up as Harry Kane for my stag do, knowing that I’m an Arsenal fan and obviously he played for Spurs at the time, so they thought that was funny.
“And what they did was, they all went into a bar in York and I had to sit on the other side of the street on the floor with a sign that said, ‘Harry Kane lookalike, will take selfies for money’.
“I made about £6 in about ten minutes, from people just wanting pictures. So that’s when I thought, ‘okay, maybe there’s something in this’.”
As a result, Danny’s friend entered into a doppelgänger competition, and sure enough, he won the £250 prize.

And two years later, when the FA disgracefully ordered England’s players to raise their arm in the Nazi salute before beating Germany in a friendly, it seemed that the British state was implicitly accepting Hitler’s authority and power.
The Three Lions have the opportunity to right that ancient wrong yet nothing can detract from the stadium’s place in the pantheon of sport’s darkest hours.

Danny added: “My friend put me into that Harry Kane competition. I won quite easily.
“Sometimes I find it a bit strange, but I’ve had it for a long time. I think I do [look like Harry Kane].
“I kind of go off people’s reactions to me. It dies off in the off-season, but when there’s a tournament on, especially the Euros or World Cup, I get it quite a lot.”

Danny explained that whilst it can be a bit of “fun” when he’s out watching matches in pubs, things can often get a bit lairy.
He admitted: “It’s positive, people enjoy it. It’s fun.
“It’s funny, until people get quite drunk and start picking you up and stuff, which I think I’m going to have to live with on Sunday if something good happens.

“Also, I get abused. Sometimes in bars when I watch England play, if they’re not playing too well and people have had a few, I actually get abused as well.
“They can’t sort of separate that I look like Harry Kane. They’re like, ‘you’re playing c**p as well, what are you doing?’
“After a game, they’ll just grab you. Everyone wants to be part of the fun and wants to get a selfie, wants to pick me up.”
Danny shared that people buy him drinks, strangers ask him for selfies “quite a lot”, and he’s all too used to being stared at and whispered about.
He continued: “I’ve bought drinks, but it’s mainly selfies and the odd time where people just sort of grab you.
“You normally notice people talking about you, when people whisper to whoever they’re with and are looking at you, that’s when I realise that they’re talking about me.
“People ask for selfies quite a lot. I’ve been stopped in the street before quite a few times. I think they just want to share it with their mates.
“My wife laughs about it all, [but] she doesn’t get jealous as it’s only lads that ask for selfies.
“Most of the time you can just see them whispering. But I don’t mind, to be fair. I’ve got to look at it from a sort of, you know, this is just a bit of fun, otherwise I’d absolutely hate it.
“It can get a bit hairy sometimes. I mean, it’s all done in good jest, but if people have had too much to drink, especially if he’s not playing well, then people are just aiming their anger towards wherever they want to aim their anger towards, and I look a bit like Harry Kane, so sometimes I get the brunt for that.”

As a result of Danny’s competition win, he expressed his excitement for Sunday’s game.
He beamed: “Me and my mates are massive football fans, so we all went wild in the group chat when we got the news we’d be getting a table and £250 bar tab to watch the final at BOX.
“I’m expecting that to be quite wild, especially if we win. That’ll be crazy.
“I might even wear a full kit for the occasion. I’m absolutely buzzing.”
