MORE dreaded ads have reportedly made their way onto Amazon Fire TV Sticks.
Users in the US started noticing them on their screens last week, describing Amazon‘s latest change as “more annoying than ever”.
Now it appears the same tactic has already hopped across the Atlantic to bother UK viewers.
The popular budget streaming stick has been steadily increasing the number of ads – though it hasn’t gone down well with viewers.
Earlier this year people complained about ads showing up on the home screen.
And then ads started appearing as soon as users switch their Fire TV device on too.
It’s not the only place Amazon has been increasing the ads either.
This year the company introduced ads to Prime Video too, charging an extra £2.99 for the privilege of removing them.
Now full screen adverts have started showing up right before the screen saver starts.
A promo for a new Mad Max film rental has already been spotted by Cord Busters.
Fortunately these types of ads are only appearing on a handful of Fire TV models at the moment that support Amazon’s Ambient Experience.
This means only Omni TV or Fire TV Stick 4K Max 2nd Gen owners will see them.
The tech giant told Cord Busters that the ads are a way to help customers “effortlessly find content, products and services they may enjoy”.
But the reaction from from users hasn’t been very warm so far.
“If they actually cared about user experience, they would know that users don’t want this kind of c**p on their tv,” one wrote online.
“I will never buy a Fire TV ever in its current state,” another said.
A third commented: “Ads are more annoying than ever.”
Fire TV Sticks are an easy way to add streaming to an older television. They’re manufactured by Amazon, but you can buy them from a number of different stores.
