A WOMAN has revealed that she swears by her dad’s super simple hack to get rid of weeds.
So if your lawn is covered with the nasty stuff and you want your guests to be impressed with your outside haven this summer, then you’ve come to the right place.
And particularly if you’ve tried all of the savvy weed-banishing hacks – from washing powder to washing-up liquid – but with little success, then we’ve got just the thing for you.
Even better, don’t worry if you’re on a budget and don’t have loads of cash to splash on pricey weed-killing products, as thanks to this trick, you’ll probably already have the secret in your shed somewhere.
With this hack, all you’ll need is an old tube – yes, you heard that correctly.
Posting on social media, a woman shared her dad’s impressive weed hack, which many have hailed ‘genius’.
The short clip was captioned ‘My dad has the best ideas!’, and the woman, who is in her fifties, said: “Honestly, my dad comes up with the most hairbrain ideas, and every single one of them works.
“So he’s decided how he’s gonna get the roots, deep roots, from weeds, out of the lawn.”
The woman explained that her gardening guru dad simply stuck an old tube into the ground, which he then used to pull out the weed root.
She added: “So he’s got an old tube bashed into the ground, pulled out the middle part of the route, which was right the way down.”
Following this, the savvy man then added soil, as she continued: “Then [he] got a little bit of soil, filled up the hole, and the grass will grow over.”
Thrilled with her dad’s clever hack, the content creator beamed: “Amazing.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @fiftysomethingdiaries, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 288,800 views.
Social media users were left open-mouthed at the savvy hack and many took to the comments to express this.

WASH THIS: According to Sam Marlow, a gardening expert, washing powder is an affordable way to say goodbye to weeds.
He advised: “If you’re on a budget, there’s a cheap way to keep weeds at bay. If you want to remove persistent unwanted plants from paths or patios, try using washing powder. It’s a super easy way to banish weeds once and for all.”
