JUST like how there was a slew of movie and TV subscriptions following the popularity of Netflix, gaming subscription services have followed suit.
Xbox has been the most popular so far, though that might change with the massive Game Pass price increase, but PS Plus and Nintendo Switch Online have also seen success.
While other subscriptions like EA Play and Ubisoft+ are not as popular, a number of mobile-focused subscription services are gaining popularity.
Netflix and CrunchyRoll both include mobile games as part of their regular subscription service, but Apple Arcade is one of the most popular up-and-coming subs.
Apple Arcade costs just £6.99/$6.99 a month, and offers an ad-free library of games that you can play across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.
Three games have been announced to come to the service in August, including one of the best games of 2022.
Vampire Survivors won Best Game at the 2023 Bafta Games Awards, and has an incredibly impressive 95 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.
The base game is already free via the App Store, but the Apple Arcade version will include the paid DLC packs Legacy of Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari.
Vampire Survivors+ will be added to Apple Arcade on August 1, 2024, alongside another fan-favourite mobile game.
Temple Run: Legends, an updated version of the popular endless runner, will also join Apple Arcade on August 1.
The game features 500 levels and 10 playable characters, alongside the usual endless mode.
The final game coming to Apple Arcade in August is Castle Crumble, exclusive for the Apple Vision Pro.
This one will be released later, on August 29, and is a physics-based puzzler.
