LOVE Island bosses have staged a mass cull of cast in a mega dumping which has seen a number of Islanders booted out the villa.
The love nest was bursting at the seams with seventeen people and every single spare bed was taken – including use of the day beds in the garden.
So execs last night swung the axe and chopped a number of fan favourites from the villa following Uma Jammeh and Wil Anderson‘s exit last night.
With under three weeks to go until the final, fans have noted that very few committed couples are in play.
Just Ciaran Davies, 21, and Nicole Samuel. 24 are considered solid whilst Joey Essex, 33, and Jessy Potts, 25, remained strong through Casa Amor.
Sean Stone and Matilda Draper, both 24, have a couple of weeks under their belt but were rocked by the relationship test.
There are a whopping seven singles – including heartbroken Mimii Ngulube after Ayo Odukoya dumped her during Casa Amor.
A source said: “Logistically there are too many people in that villa right now, but in terms of the flow of the show the sheer amount of singles is a big no-no.
“The central premise of the show is to remain on Love Island, you have to be in a couple.
“Bosses staged a mega cull and it shook things up.”
It comes after Wil, 23, was the last to be evicted – swiftly followed by his girl Uma, 23, who volunteered to leave with him.
The Sun exclusively reported how the model and VIP host exited the sun-soaked villa over the weekend but viewers only saw the emotional scenes last night.
Uma broke down in floods of tears when bombshell Reuben picked her to recouple with, which resulted in Wil being axed.
Almost instantly, a heartbroken Uma declared she was “going” and would be standing by her original villa partner.
Explaining whey she left, she said: “I knew where my head and heart was at and it’s with Wil so I wanted to be true to my feelings for him.
“We can’t wait to just do normal things on the outside, stay inside and have a takeaway and go on cute dates.
“Wil wants to take me to Whitley Bay to see where he’s from but we’ve also discussed him possibly moving to London so I’m looking forward to the future with him. The only way is up from here.”
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and online at ITVX.
