A FOOTBALLER’S fiancee has revealed she’s still a sucker for high street fashion after doing a huge Zara summer haul.
Ellie Butler is the childhood sweetheart of ex-Celtic midfielder Liam Shaw who signed a loan deal with Wigan Athletic last summer.
She regularly shares her shopping hauls and outfit creations with her army of followers on social media.
And while her dressing room is packed full of designer handbags and footwear, the down-to-earth Wag also loves a bargain buy.
In a recent video, the newly engaged blonde beauty bagged some pieces from Zara’s summer 2024 arrivals.
She said: “We’ve been away for almost a month. We’ve been going like here, there and everywhere.
“I’m finally back home and I’ve got a big Zara haul, and I’m also now fiancée.
“We’ve got a lot to get through.”
She added: “Summer in England outfits for me are my biggest struggle I would say.
“I love my holiday outfits where you can get dressed up at night time [and] wear cute little mesh sets in the daytime.
“Summer in England when it’s really hot and I get so hot and bothered, I want to just wear my pyjamas.
“So I feel like comfy but still cute outfits is what I’m on the hunt for.”
It’s unsurprising then, that the first item Ellie picked up was a pair of £25.99 mint green and white striped ‘pyjama style’ shorts which she paired with a £35.99 cropped waistcoat-style white top.
Ellie also apologised for buying a “lot of leopard print” but insisted she’s “obsessed and loves it”.
She bagged a slinky mesh cowl neck maxi dress for £29.99 in the 90s print, as well as a pair of £29.99 shorts, £22.99 sandals and £19.99 bodysuit.
Elsewhere in her haul, she snapped up a “nice quality” white T-shirt for £15.99 , £17.99 metallic gold vest top and floaty black maxi dress.
She said: “It’s so comfortable. I feel this is going to be an outfit that you bring out summer after summer.”
And it’s not the only dress she was left gushing over.
“This one is my favourite one of the haul”, she revealed as she tried on the £35.99 zebra print tulle mini dress.
“This is beautiful. It fits so nicely, it’s the perfect length. It’s got lots of ruching so it’s so flattering.”
In true Wag fashion, Ellie still paired her outfits with designer gems including the iconic black quilted Chanel handbag, and a selection of mini Telfar shopping bags.
The next time you head on a Zara shopping spree, take a look at the clothing tags.
You may find a small shape next to the size label, which serves a bigger purpose than being decorative.
According to the fashion and beauty Instagram account Dailychiclife, there’s a reason Zara tags have the symbols on them and you can use the shapes to find a better fit.
In a video, the Zara expert wrote that the square symbol means that the clothing item is true to size.
Meanwhile, a triangle on the tag means that item runs small and you may want to size up.
Lastly, a circle symbol on a Zara clothing tag indicates that the item runs big, meaning you may want to size down if you want a tighter fit.
And for when she’s not wearing her Gucci platform sandals, Ellie also picked up a pair of £22.99 black flip flops which she insists will make any outfit “look more chic”.
Ellie’s only complaint about her haul – that she’s already been on her summer holiday so can’t wear her new buys abroad.
“Why does all the holiday stuff all the nice bits always come out after I’ve been away?” she sighed.
“We always have to go early because of Liam’s football. All the nice stuff always comes out later on in the year.”
But this year’s early holiday was definitely one she will remember forever.
Liam, who has spent the last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, proposed to girlfriend Ellie during a holiday to Jamaica in May.
Vlogger Ellie has been with the football ace since before his time at Celtic.
The childhood sweethearts got together when Liam was on the books at Sheffield Wednesday.
His time at Celtic hasn’t quite worked out on the pitch, with the 23-year-old having only played two games for the club since signing under Ange Postecoglou in 2021.
He had loan stints at Motherwell and Morecambe in previous seasons and despite the upheaval, he and Ellie have grown stronger.
Sharing news of their engagement accompanied by a pic of her huge diamond ring on social media, smitted Ellie said: “Always and forever.”
