CHILDREN around the country are getting ready to enjoy their summer breaks as the school term comes to an end.
Many pupils will want to thank their teachers for their hard work over the past year with a card or a gift.
The school term is ending in a few weeks[/caption] One of the designs available on the website[/caption]Moonpig has launched a promotion allowing customers to get a free thank you card for teachers before the school term ends.
All you need to do to get the free card is browse the website to see which one you like the most and then enter a promo code at checkout.
The retailer has many designs available including one that reads “Thank you for bee-ing so amazing” and another saying “Real heroes don’t wear capes, they teach”.
There are also designs that simply read “Thank you” and others that can be personalised with the teacher’s name.
Once you find the design you like, add it to your basket, where you then need to enter the code “THANKYOU”.
Your basket will then be updated and the card will be free.
Bear in mind, though, that you might need to pay extra for postage.
When we checked, after adding a free card to the basket, postage cost £1.35, so that would be the total you need to pay.
A card is always a good idea to say thank you, and if you want to add something extra, teachers say the presents they treasure the most are the ones made by their pupils.
Let your little one create their work of art — a postcard with a picture on one side and a message on the other will melt hearts.
Show it off in a silver hanging metal frame, with glass on each side, down from £4.50 to £2 at Matalan.
For the tea or coffee-loving teacher, you could opt for a reusable cup or special mug for the staff room.
You could place a homemade or shop-bought goodie inside and, if you can spare the cash, a gift voucher for their favourite coffee shop would be the cherry on top.

Other gift ideas for teachers could also be a plant or a book.
Alicia Dougherty, a mum-of-11 from the US, took to social media to reveal the extreme lengths she went to to show appreciation for her children’s school teachers.
Posting online under the username Dougherty Dozen, Alicia, who is based in New York and recently left people shocked with her four trolley shopping trip, said: “Here’s how I made 60 teacher appreciation gifts for my 11 kids’ teachers!”
Whilst many parents will simply buy their child’s teacher a mug or a box of chocolates as an end-of-year gift, Alicia revealed that she likes to go the extra mile when it comes to her “teacher appreciation gifts”.
Alicia, a busy mum who wakes up at 4am to ensure that everything is in order for her children before they head off to school, then continued: “I found these skinny tumblers with straws in bulk on Amazon.”
