A BRITISH tourist has allegedly been raped by another tourist in Cyprus.
Local police in Ayia Napa are investigating the allegations after the 18-year-old went to police after meeting the other tourist in a nightclub.
According to court reports, the 18-year old claimed that she thought she was raped on July 3.
Police are looking at CCTV footage to establish a timeline of the incident.
The 18-year-old was examined by medical examiner after she woke up in the 19-year-old’s bed.
According to the investigation, the young woman had gone to various bars in Ayia Napa with friends, when the 19-year-old male, also from England, approached her and introduced himself.
The two allegedly then partied a nightclub together before they left for the hotel they were both staying at.
According to the 19-year-old Brit tourist, the young woman fell asleep in his room wearing her clothes in the early hours of the morning.
However, the 18-year-old claimed that she woke up at 5:30 am, and realised that she was undressed, as was the 19-year-old.
She claimed that the suspect then helped her get dressed and carried her back to her own hotel room.
In her statement, the 18-year-old woman claimed that she had a feeling that someone raped her while she was intoxicated and could not react.
The 19-year-old tourist has denied the allegation and has cooperated with investigators.
He has been detained by Cypriot authorities for five days as investigations continue.
It comes just days after a 19-year-old British tourist was allegedly raped at a nightclub by a member of staff.
The woman was on holiday in Portugal when she claims a club worker assaulted her in the back room of Urban Beach dance club.
The unnamed worker is claiming they had consensual sex.
Local cops have launched an investigation and club bosses are also probing the incident.
Friends of the Brit teen are understood to have called police at around 5am on Thursday morning.
The holidaymaker was then taken to Sao Jose Hospital in Lisbon so she could be examined by a specialist doctor.
A spokeswoman for the PJ police confirmed this morning: “We are investigating an alleged rape at a nightclub in Lisbon.”
A well-placed source said: “The alleged rape victim is a 19-year-old British woman who appears to have been on holiday in Portugal.”
Paulo Damaso, the nightclub’s manager, told Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha: “We have already launched an internal inquiry and as part of that inquiry the worker in question will be interviewed.
“He claims the sexual relationship with the complainant was consensual.”
In May, a Brit tourist was allegedy raped by a soldier in Crete who lured her to a beach after meeting in a bar.
Police have arrested the 21-year-old suspect as he faces a persecution by military court on suspicions of sexual assault.
The 26-year-old victim claimed that she had met the man in a local bar before he lured her to the beach where he forced himself upon her.
The suspect remains in custody in Hersonissos but he filed a counter lawsuit, claiming his innocence.
The infantryman has in turn accused the victim of false accusation and defamation.
Both were arrested and the Greek soldier was referred to the military prosecutor in Chania, on the northwest coast of the island.
The British tourist will be inspected by a medical examiner who will investigate if the rape took place.
It comes just hours after a British teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted in Majorca after having her drink spiked while on holiday.
