LOVE Island stars often have products given to them by Boots, who have sponsored the show for six seasons.
However, sometimes the contestants use beauty products in some pretty unconventional ways.
Harriet says ‘everyone’ is obsessed with it’[/caption] The cream can also be used on your lips[/caption] People leave rave reviews online about what it’s done for their dry, cracked lips[/caption]This is the case for a lip balm… which isn’t made for lips at all.
It turns out they use nipple balm to make their lips look so luscious.
Speaking to Heat, Harriet Blackmore, who was on this year’s ongoing series, said: “It’s so random but Lansinoh nipple cream.
“Everyone puts it on their lips like lip gloss. I don’t know if anyone’s seen this but yeah, everyone uses it in the villa.”
Lansinoh costs £11.99 and can be picked up from retailers such as Boots, Superdrug, and Amazon.
It comes in a small 10ml tube so is perfect for carrying around in your handbag.
The description for the product reads: “When applied on sore cracked nipples, it will provide them with a perfect moist wound-healing environment.
“When cracked tissue is re-hydrated, it will heal without the formation of a scab or crust.”
It also notes its multi-purpose uses, which include being a lip balm.
Lansinoth says: “[It can be used for] nappy rash, itchy stretch marks, burns, abrasions, dry skin patches and can be used as a naturally moisturising lip balm.”
The skin-loving product is also hypoallergenic and made from 100% natural ingredients.
Reviewers have raved about its ability to be used in a variety of places, with many noting it “saved” their lips.
“Going on Accutane completely destroyed my lips, they were cracked and bleeding and blistered no matter what lip balms or ointments I put on.
“It managed to save my lips within a few days. it lasts a long time as I only need to put a thin layer on morning and night, so it’s well worth the money,” one person wrote, giving it five stars.
Another raved: “I read a review that this was amazing for dry lips so gave it a try. It is now a staple in my night routine.
“Not sticky or fragranced. Keeps lips soft and smooth. I can feel a difference when I miss a night applying it! Can’t live without it now.”
Love Island has seen many contestants come and go, and thanks to them fans now know some great products and beauty hacks to help them look their best.
Last year, former Islander Olivia Attwood took to her Instagram Story to share a hack using roll-on deodorant.
She said: “So basically what you need to know is setting your makeup with stick deodorant will change your life. This is one back from my Vegas pageant days lol.
“I use it anywhere you get make-up movement in the heat on a bare face first and then I go over at the end.”
She added her make “doesn’t move” in the sweltering heat because of the hack.
Another hack, which is used by various former contestants including Molly Mae Hauge and Molly Smith, is a moisturiser.
They use it under their makeup to give them that glass-skin look.
Molly-Mae said in a YouTube video: “My make-up artist Holly always uses this on me,” while Chloe Burrows said: Well, Mary [Bedford] actually got me into this on Love Island. It’s the Weleda Skin Food and it’s bloody brilliant.”
In June, Molly Smith revealed the hack that make her eye colour pop – and it’s only £7. She was introduced to it by Georgia Steel.
She said: “The girls shared so many beauty tips whilst in the villa. One of my favourite hacks was using brightening eye drops. They really whiten your eyes which helps to make them pop when wearing eye shadow.
The eye drops in question are the Optrex Brightening & Dazzling Eye Drops.
A third penned: “Great for lips. Works like nothing else and lasts forever.”
Someone else said: “Just WOW!! My search for a super-rich lip balm is over!
“So glad I brought after all others – cheap & costly- failed. A little goes a long way and your lips are left with a lovely sheen and so so soft.
“Any peeling or dryness is banished. Usually allergic to lanolin but not this. Buy it! You won’t be disappointed!”
