YOU might not be thinking about your central heating right now – but lots of clever shoppers are snapping up a thermostat deal on Amazon.
The online giant has slashed the price of the Tado Wired Smart Thermostat by 29%, taking the cost down to just £85.49.

Since it’s summer (albeit a slightly grey one right), you’re not in the market for a thermostat.
But canny deals-hunters are flocking to buy this device from Tado, which is almost 30% cheaper than usual.
I spotted this deal sitting on the retailer’s movers and shakers list – a place that lists all the fastest-selling items.
Sales have soared by 122% in the last 24 hours on this smart home device.
While you always have the option to turn on and off your central heating by going up to the controls, a smart thermostat can make a world of difference, not just by reducing your steps.
The savings you can make by making proper use of a smart thermostat are significant.
However, as we are all very aware, British weather can be highly unpredictable, and although it’s predicted for the 20s, it may well start to rain out of nowhere, causing the temperature to plummet.
That’s where the smart thermostat can make a world of difference.
Even if you’re not using your thermostat, thanks to the warmer weather, picking it up now before it cools down could save you a few quid.
Tado’s Smart Thermostat eventually learns your usage pattern, so be it summer, winter, autumn or spring, your house is kept at an ideal temperature for you.
This device automatically switches off when it doesn’t need to be on.
In terms of what it learns, the Tado Thermostat will also, with your permission, track your location in order to decide when to start increasing the temperature based on how far from your home you are.
There are a few more neat features, too – this is smart tech, after all.
If you forget to close the windows in your home, the Tado Thermostat comes with window detection, meaning it’ll stop heating up the house to save your pocket.
For those with fancy flooring, you can also pair it with any hydronic underfloor heating allowing you to control that from the app too.
One shopper on Amazon notes: ‘Installation was effortless. The instructions for the wired thermostat were a breeze to follow.’
‘Likewise, fitting the thermostatic valves to replace the original thermostatic control units was dead easy.’
Another states the thermostat gives ‘massive energy savings, [and] incredible control.’
‘This allowed me to individually heat each room, which meant everyone in the house was happy, as some people liked it colder and some liked it warmer.’
When it comes to smart thermostats, there are a few household names like Nest and Hive to consider, too.
Reader my Google Nest vs. Hive explainer to see how the two brands match up against each other.
If you’re more concerned with staying cool during the heatwaves, I spotted a fantastic Livivo 32-inch Tower Fan reduced to £36.99 from £99.99 over on Amazon.
