CLEANING fans have been left gushing over a quick and easy hack that will leave your shower spotless – and it only costs 35p.
Getting your showerhead clean can take a while with all its niggly bits, especially if you wait to avoid using bleach.
But there’s no need to worry because one expert has shared their super easy trick that will have it sparkling in no time.
Cleaning whizz Nick Ross at Home Spritz revealed that all you need is one item that you might even already have in your kitchen cupboard.
And even if you don’t have it, it only costs 35p to pick it up in supermarkets like Tesco.
He swears by using vinegar to get rid of grime buildup on showerheads because its acidic properties help dissolve mineral deposits.
Nick explained: “Simply fill a plastic bag with white vinegar and soak the showerhead for a few hours, or overnight if the build-up is tough.
“Once soaked, rinse the showerhead thoroughly and scrub any stubborn areas with an old toothbrush.”
But he warns that this handy trick can’t be used on all showerheads in case it damages them.
He explains: “Remember that this approach should be used only for stainless steel showerheads.
“Ones with delicate finishes like brass should not be soaked for more than 30 minutes.”
Not only is vinegar good when it comes to cleaning your shower, but it also works a treat to remove rust.
Nick has revealed that mixing it with salt can create a solution that easily lifts it from mirrors and tools.
The acetic acid in white vinegar acts as a mild acid, dissolving light surface rust, while the salt adds a gentle abrasive quality which helps to loosen and remove it.
He explains: “Combine white vinegar and table salt into a thick paste. Apply the paste to the rusted area and let it sit for 15-30 minutes to allow the vinegar’s acidity to work its magic.
“Then, use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to scrub the area gently.
“Remember, this method is effective only for minor rust stains. If you’re dealing with more stubborn rust, you may need a stronger solution”.
Nick also shared three other cleaning hacks for your home “that actually work”.
One of which is using drill brushes, which are little attachments that fit onto any drill, for a super deep clean.
While bringing a power tool into the shower might not be your first instinct, these brush attachments can be surprisingly effective and can make scrubbing way easier.
He explains: “We use drill brushes all the time.
“Drill brushes can be fantastic for a deep clean, but a bit of know-how goes a long way to avoid scratches.
“Pick a brush with the right firmness for the job – softer for baths and showers, a bit sturdier for floors.

“Begin on a low setting speed on your drill and work your way up.
“A light touch paired with the right brush does wonders for a sparkling finish without any risk of damage.”
However, if you do end up with some scratches, then you can use toothpaste to fix it.
While this doesn’t work for all surfaces, it massively improves small scratches on furniture, irons, cutlery, and even mirrors.
Nick says: “Apply a tiny dab of toothpaste to a damp cloth, then gently rub the scratch in circles.
THE bathroom is a place where lots of grub and grime can be found, as it is used on a daily basis.
And now experts have revealed how often you should be cleaning it to avoid any bacteria build-up.
In general experts reveal that you should give your bathroom a good clean at least once a week.
This includes wiping down the toilet, sink and well as mopping the floors and giving the bath and shower a wipe down.
And for a deeper clean, professionals recommend doing this every two weeks or so.
That includes giving the drains, taps and shower a good scrub from the limescale.
“Once you’re done, wipe away any leftover toothpaste with a clean, dry cloth.”
Nick’s other, and final, trick helps get rid of those annoying sticker marks without damaging surfaces.
He explains that a hairdryer can be a useful tool for removing stubborn stickers without harsh chemicals.
Applying heat can help loosen the adhesive, which in turn makes them easier to peel off.
Nick says: “I often give jars a new lease of life, so I tried removing a label from one I was about to clean.
“I was really impressed by how well a hairdryer loosened the adhesive.
“Apply heat for about 30 seconds, then gently lift a corner of the sticker with your fingernail or a thin, flat tool and the sticker will come right off”.
