AFTER losing her hair at the top of her scalp, one woman decided to take action.
She concocted a foolproof haircare routine to grow back her tresses.
Redditor Suchprit21 detailed her regimen in a post on the social media platform.
She included hard proof — before and after pictures of her scalp.
In the first photo, her hair was clearly thinning at the top of her head.
A more recent picture showed a full head of hair, which she attributed to a few products for growth.
The Redditor resorted to a popular product to combat hair loss — minoxidil.
“I really didn’t want to do this because I’m actually embarrassed I let it go for so long,” she said of posting her balding photo.
“But for those who are scared of starting minoxidil, this is four months progress.”
Minoxidil is available as a topical as well as oral treatment for hair loss.
Rogaine, a brand name for minoxidil, is sold by CVS for $41.29.
She said that she got her prescription remedies from the dermatologist.
“I do other things as well such as vitamin D and birth control but I recently moved to Bicalutamide 10 milligrams once a day and upped my oral minoxidil dose,” she said.
“I was on one milligram Finasteride a week but I kept forgetting to take it that’s how I know the minoxidil did the heavy lifting.”
She specified that she used the product on certain part of her scalp for optimal growth.
“Did you apply the minoxidil all over your head?” another Redditor asked.
“Not all over. Just the top, hairline, sides, and a bit of the back. Most of it just goes into my hair if I try do my whole head,” she replied.
Several Redditors chimed in to congratulate her hair growth achievement.
“Oh my God, this is amazing,” one wrote. “You’re an inspiration, I’m actually crying happy tears here.”
“Wow,” another added. “I think that is the best set of minoxidil progress pics I have ever seen.”
“Wow, This is such an amazing progress,” said a third.
“Thank you for sharing and so happy for you. There is nothing to be embarrassed about, especially in this community.
“The more we share our experiences the more we encourage each other and normalize female hair loss.”
“Wow, this is absolutely unreal,” yet another wrote.
“I can’t even imagine the newfound confidence you must have now. Enjoy your new hair.”
