LOVE Island fans have flocked to watchdog Ofcom to complain after the latest recoupling saw a fan favourite dumped.
During a chaotic recoupling ceremony that aired on June 18, Samantha Kenny was sent her marching orders as Joey Essex opted to recouple Grace Jackson.
Joey and Grace had dated prior to entering the villa, and while Joey had been coupled up with Samantha since his arrival, he ended things shortly after Grace arrived.
With the rest of the girls being coupled off with the boys, Samantha was left saying her goodbyes and exited the villa.
Furious fans flocked to watchdog Ofcom about the scenes, with 121 complaints being filed in the immediate aftermath.
The dumping came hours after the make-up artist was seen sobbing on the daybeds claiming Joey “didn’t give a flying f**k” about her feelings.
She later told Maya Jama on Aftersun left her feeling like a “placeholder” and suggested he knew Grace was coming in.
She told the host: “I had a chat with him one day where he literally said you never know who might come through the door and I was like ‘oh, OK.'”
“And that’s when I was like, my toes curled and I tensed up.”
Her claims were later backed up by another dumped islander, Munveer Jabbal, who claimed his friend was “livid” over how the scenes unfolded.
“She just feels like she wasn’t able to do what she wanted to and some of it was a little bit engineered,” he told FUBAR Radio.
“She feels like she was a little bit restricted in what she could have done in certain situations.
“I’m not saying it’s scripted but sometimes it’s difficult to go have a conversation with someone, there’s timing and all these different things. She just feels like it didn’t go her way.”
Even Joey’s sister has shared a supportive message with Samantha in the wake of her brutal dumping.
