BARGAIN obsessed shoppers are going wild after spotting an Aldi dupe for a popular British snack.
One eagle-eyed customer could not believe their luck after it was discovered the discounter stocked a nearly identical version of Nicknack Crisps.
A post shared on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group read: “Just found these in Aldi and only 89p!! Niknak dupe. These taste better.”.
Fans of the cheaper alternative were quick to chime in and share their love for the savoury snack.
“We’ve been buying these for months. They are my fav! My girls prefer the orange ones but purple is my favourite,” added one shopper.
Another bargain hunter even carried out a taste test between the original Nicknaks and the Aldi dupe to check which was better.
“We got them too. And got the branded [version] to taste test. Much prefer the cheaper ones,” they said.
A 80g bag of Aldi’s Nibbley Nobblies retail for 89p and come in two flavours: spicy and saucy. They can be bought via click and collect or in stores.
Meanwhile, Nicknaks’ cost anywhere from £1.20 to £1.50 in a supermarket and come in a range of flavours such as Nice ‘n’ Spicy, Rib ‘n’ Saucy and Scampi ‘n’ Lemon.
Despite the treats being available for sometime at Aldi, some are only just spotting them on shelves.
The discount grocery store, which was founded in German, often leaves shoppers lost for words due to its ability to release copycat versions of their favourite products.
Earlier this month, shoppers raced to fill their baskets with a replica of Fanta Lemon.
The drinks were marked up at just £1.99 – a fraction of the real Fanta price, which ranges from £3.75 to £5.10 at different retailers.
And it’s not only replicas of food which have left shoppers gobsmacked, fans of makeup brand Dior were also rushing out to buy Aldi’s replica of its sell out Lip Oil.
The makeup bag essential comes in at just £3.99, saving shoppers over £28.
Unlike other major grocers, Aldi does not have a rewards or point card system but that does not mean you cannot save on your shop.
