A FIRST-AID kit staple helped one woman get rid of her body odor after having an adverse reaction to deodorants.
She raved that the affordable product replaced her need for fragrant beauty supplies.
She took to Reddit’s Skincare Addiction forum to share her hack in response to another user’s post.
The initial poster said they had been using 10% benzoyl peroxide twice daily and Dove’s sensitive deodorant at night to solve their “stinky” armpit problem.
Posting under the handle Joyus65, a beauty enthusiast shared an alternative treatment for banishing unpleasant smells.
“I do something similar too, but I use Hibicleanse instead of BP [benzoyl peroxide] wash, that’s how severe my BO [body odor] was!” she said.
“I only have to wash with the Hibicleanse 3x/wk for it to be effective.”
Hibiclens Antiseptic Skin Cleanse costs $11.99 at Target.
Customers have given it a whopping 4.7-star rating out of a possible 5.
The antiseptic skin cleanser contains 4% chlorhexidine gluconate, which according to Science Direct reduces bacteria on the skin and prevents infections.
The Redditor revealed they alternate with using a product by The Ordinary.
“When I don’t wash with Hibicleanse, I use regular soap and Finish off with my TO glycolic acid solution,” she said.
“I don’t struggle with BO anymore and it’s been such a game changer for me…
“I don’t use any deodorant whatsoever, which is a blessing because I couldn’t find one that didn’t give me a rash or a migraine (I’m sensitive to scents).”
The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner costs $13 at Sephora.
Many people up-voted the Reddit user’s post after struggling with body odor themselves.
Yellow armpit stains affects everyone, whether people care to admit to it or not. But there is help at hand. To remove yellow stains from your clothing, experts recommend the following methods:
According to Medical News Today, body odor is caused by bacteria destroying protein molecules within sweat.
The unpleasant smell is most likely to linger on the feet, armpits, genitals, and behind the ears.
Experts recommend washing and drying thoroughly, shaving body hair, and using antiperspirants to control body odor.
It is recommended to speak with a doctor if sweating worsens as it could be a sign of an underlying condition.
Aluminum chloride is among the treatments that may be prescribed to reduce the amount of sweat.
