DAISY May Cooper has candidly opened up on the “scary” birth of her third child after the tot arrived a month early.
The This Country star posted the first adorable snaps of her newborn son – as well as revealing his sweet name – in an Instagram post on Sunday.
In the message, the BBC favourite told how baby Benji, who she shares with partner Anthony Huggins, had “came a bit earlier than expected” on Thursday.
Back in March, The Sun exclusively revealed how her baby was due in July.
Her images – showing little Benji in the neonatal ward – saw him needing specialist breathing equipment and a medical cot.
Meanwhile, Daisy, who is now a mum of three, was also seen wearing an Oxygen mask in one snap.
As she candidly opened up on her birth story she wrote: “What a bloody week…
“You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that I nearly had to phone the Samaritans but my god you are perfect.”
Postpartum constipation is, in part, sparked due to a lack of enough water in the body.
Yet it is also due to a new mum’s body still healing from delivering her baby, with added complications including the stretching of the pelvic floor muscles and stitches or impact at the surgical site.
Additionally, website healthline.com posted: “The added weight gain and pressure of carrying a growing baby might have given you hemorrhoids during pregnancy.
“This can cause pain and blockages that can cause constipation or make it worse.”
Yet it added: “Some causes of postpartum constipation go away on their own. Others will need a little more nudging until your digestive system is cranking again.”
In her frank message announcing the birth, Daisy added: “I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough.
“The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond. You are all bloody superstars. I am so blessed.
Premature birth is when a baby is born before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
About eight out of 100 babies will be born prematurely.
It’s possible for a baby to survive if born around 24 weeks of pregnancy onwards – 24 weeks is the legal limit for abortion.
Babies born this early need care in a hospital with specialist facilities for premature babies, called a neonatal unit.
The risks of having a premature baby include:
They may have health and development problems because they have not fully developed in the womb.
In some cases, pre-term labour is planned and induced because it’s safer for the baby to be born sooner rather than later.
Risk factors that have been identified for preterm birth include pregnancy with multiple babies, six months or less between pregnancies, a previous premature birth and problems with the placenta.

Daisy gave birth at a hospital in Gloucester.
On its Instagram page, the unit states it offers “combined care by doctors and a midwifery team.”
It then adds it is a “place of birth option when extra monitoring is recommended for you and/or your baby.”
In Daisy’s post and accompanying video, she captured herself wearing a grey top and shorts as she was wheeled in a chair to see her little boy.
He lay on his back wrapped in blankets with Daisy saying; “Hi, hi bubba,
“Oh my god.”
She kept saying hello as she reached her hand through the cot to give him a tickle as he slept surrounded by tubes and a breathing mask.
It remains unclear how long he will stay in the unit following his premature arrival, which comes before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
The actress also shares two children daughter – Pip, five, and three-year-old son Jack with her ex husband Will Weston.
A source exclusively told The Sun: “Daisy is pregnant and is really excited to become a mum for the third time with her new partner.
“The pair have been going strong, so the addition of a baby will only bring them closer together.
They added: “Daisy is currently very happy and becoming a mum again is what she is focusing on right now.”
Daisy previously exclusively told The Sun of the impact giving up booze had on her parenting.
In an open and honest chat last year she told us: “Just taking alcohol out of the equation means I’ve got time for my kids that I never had before.
“I remember rushing to read their bedtime story because I wanted them to get to sleep so I could go downstairs, have a drink and watch Married At First Sight.
“Now I can be completely present.”
She added how giving up drinking was “the biggest gift I’ve ever given myself.”
“I’d recommend sobriety to anybody.
“I’m still in the early days, but it’s changed my life.”
