FROM butterfly clips to jelly sandals and chokers, if you grew up in the 90s, chances are you can recall just how wild some of the fashion trends were.
So it’s little surprise one fashion fan has been left in shock after spotting a popular 90s trend making a comeback in none other than JD – and here’s a hint…it was loved by the likes of Paris Hilton.
In a clip posted to TikTok (@cinderswish), the woman begins by saying: “I’m sorry, did I fall asleep and wake back up in the 90s? Or even the early 2000s?
“I mean, what is this in JD?”
She then moves her camera over to the bold pink Juicy Couture crushed velvet tracksuit that can be seen hanging on the shelves – and it comes complete with the famous diamante logo.
“Firstly, Juicy Couture is back and secondly, it’s a blinged out velvet tracksuit,” the fashion fan notes.
She’s then quickly distracted after noticing another blast from the past and, interrupting herself, says: “Excuse me? Boob tubes!”
Showing off the velour pastel blue garment hanging up next to the crushed velvet-looking tracksuit, she says: “Boob tubes were my middle name in the 2000s.
I’m sorry, did I fall asleep and wake back up in the 90s? Or even the early 2000s?
JD shopper
“Look at that. It’s giving Jlo. Then look…shorts.”
Expressing her horror, she continues: “Velour, velour guys – not a velour hoodie with juicy on it in crystals. Come on!”
In the clip, she amusingly questioned: “What in the Paris Hilton…”
Addressing her social media followers, the fashionista then asked: “Who else had one of these in 2002?
“Extra points if you wore them with Uggs.”
It wasn’t long before the video went viral, racking up a whopping 89k views and hundreds of comments from 90’s kids, with many pointing out how their daughters are now huge Juicy Couture fans.
“Should of kept my Juicy tracksuits,” wrote one social media user. “I saw teenagers wearing Evisu, couldn’t believe it!”
WE might be in 2024, but fashion fans are looking to the past when it comes to new styles. So what trends from the 90s are making a comeback these days?
Claw clips
These hair accessories were a huge trend back in the 90s, but are now most popular among those trying out the “clean girl” aesthetic. Designers such as Prada have released their own versions, while there are thousands of colours and styles to choose from on the high street.
Platform flip flops
Again a popular choice among fashionistas in the 90s, these heels have made a comeback with designers such as Balenciaga trying their luck with their own styles.
Cargo pants
Once worn by the stars of All Saints, cargo pants became a popular trend for teens in the 90s. But they’ve now had a fashion overhaul, with stars such as Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber all putting their own spin on the trend.
Jeans and a nice top
It was the phrase that defined fashion for a decade, and now famous faces such as Sofia Richie are sporting the reinvented trend – pairing their own denims with a more sophisticated top. But are you willing to dig your jeans and nice tops out of the wardrobe for a second time?
A second commented: “My 17-year-old is all over juicy couture.”
“What in the 90s….” a third person quipped.
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “Because early 2000’s was legendary. The og influencers.”
And a further pointed out: “The belts are back as well, you know the ones boho big disc ones.”
It’s not the first time in recent days Fabulous has revealed a throwback trend that’s seen a comeback.
Primark shopper Hollie Mina was left horrified after seeing ballet pumps, which were loved by the likes of Kate Moss and Alexa Chung in the Noughties, back on the shelves in Primark.
Available in a range of colours, including, blue, pink and nude, they’re currently retailing at just £5 a pair.
But despite the bargain price tag, some fashion fans are less than impressed, with one writing: “I have PTSD“.
Another added: “You can’t even walk in them because it hurts”.
