Pergola’s are the hottest garden trend, and this summer, thousands more gardeners will transform their outdoor space with a structure.
But pergola’s can be extremely expensive – with some companies charging thousands.
Luckily, B&M has its own pergola for a fraction of the price.
And happy customers have been sharing photos of what it looks like in their gardens.
On Facebook, one woman asked about B&M’s Steel Pergola.
Posting in the B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More group, Ania asked whether the pergola would be a good replacement for her old one.
Sharing a screenshot of the garden accessory, she wrote: “Just looking for opinions of this new pergola, if some of you have it and could send me some real photos please?”
Unsurprisingly, she has been inundated with responses.
As the name suggests, this easy-to-assemble pergola is made from a grey stainless steal, which can withstand the worst of the UK’s weather and look good for years to come.
With its classic four poster design, you can easily add a canopy for an extra bit of shade on the hottest days over the summer.
Ideal for creating an outdoor dining area, the B&M buy can be easily added to a patio or level ground – just make sure that you can fit the 2.9m x 2.9m frame in.
You’ll also need to ensure you can bolt the pergola to the ground or a support structure, to make sure doesn’t blow over in the bad weather.
With summer just a few weeks away, many shoppers had already picked up the pergola and shared how they’d used it to transform their space in the comments.
Sharing a photo of theirs decorated with faux flowers, one member wrote: “Put it up last weekend [and I] love it.”
Another had added the viral B&M egg chair create a relaxing seat area, while a third had used rattan furniture and an outdoor rug with theirs.
They gushed in the comments: “Really pleased with mine…looks really sturdy and amazing quality for the price.“
Others had even managed to get plants to grow along their pergola, with a fourth sharing a photo and telling the group: “I have trained my grape vine to grow over the top.
“It offers shade and grapes hang down later in the summer.”
Some were shocked about how well the design faced up to the elements, with a fifth saying: “I brought curtains for it and it held well when we had strong wind a few weeks ago.”
One lucky owner even revealed they’d had the pergola in their garden for years – even after moving it around several times.
They said: “I love it…as long as you screw it down it will last well. Mine is four years old and still looks fab.”
As for how much the pergola costs, it’s currently £150 and is available in store only.
Before you race to the checkout though, it’s worth noting that some items are only available in B&Ms with a garden centers attached – so it’s worth checking where your nearest one is.

GARDEN growth can go from nought to ninety in May, depending on the weather. The last UK frosts are generally seen at the beginning of the month, so all of a sudden there’s so much more to do and grow.
Plant out dahlia tubers
It’s a joy to finally plant out your dahlia tubers. Remember how big they can get – and space accordingly – anything up to half a metre apart.
It’s a good idea to put your support stakes in now instead of trying to work around them.
And make sure you include lots of well rotted manure or decent compost to feed it and then mulch to keep it moist and suppress weeds. They generally start blooming in July.
Final feed to Spring flowers
You can give a cheeky feed to all your remaining tulips and daffodils.
Although the majority of bulbs aren’t guaranteed to come back year after year any more, as long as you’ve left them to die back naturally there’s a good chance they’ll have stored enough energy to come back again. Tomato feed is fine.
Tie up climbers
Your clematis, honeysuckle and rambling roses should be well on their way by now – try to use plastic free string to tie them back into their support, or tuck them round each other to make sure they don’t sprout off in crazy directions.
Feed the lawn
It’s not too late to give your lawn a good feed.
Whether you use granular or liquid, it can give it a good boost to see it through the harsher summer months.
While mowing, don’t go too low with your cut length yet and never take more than a third off the grass height.
Get creative
It’s also time to get creative with hanging baskets and pots.
Trailing pelargoniums, which a lot of people call geraniums, and Begonias are a good, low cost way of getting lovely returning blooms throughout the summer in your baskets.
And pots can be planted with spring bulbs.
Don’t forget the greenhouse!
Give your greenhouse a good tidy and clean the glass inside and out.
The improved light will help plants grow quicker inside and tidying is good for the soul.
You can just use a household white wine vinegar and water solution – or even neat if you’re feeling spendy – which gives a really good shine.
