SOME celebrities hardly need an excuse to bare all but World Naked Gardening Day gives them the perfect reason.
Tomorrow is the date for this year’s annual celebration so expect plenty of green-fingered exhibitionists to strip off while trimming their lawns.
Kelly’s pals have shared that she liked to garden in the buff[/caption] Ulrika spends a lot of time doing chores in her garden nude[/caption]They’ll be joining a host of famous faces who have celebrated nature, the naturist way, including Ulrika Jonsson and keen gardener Kelly Brook.
The day was started as by Mark Storey, who edited Nude & Nature magazine, in 2005, to encourage people to celebrate their bodies.
Organisers reckon that “besides being liberating, nude gardening is second only to swimming as an activity that people are most ready to consider doing nude”.
We have a look at the famous faces who are happy to bare all for the annual event.
Former Page 3 girl Kelly makes the most of stripping off in her garden when she can.
And pals have revealed she has a secret to ensuring a perfectly even tan.
The model, 44, revealed that she likes to garden in the nude – wearing just a pair of wellington boots.
A pal told the Star on Sunday: “Kelly was also telling everyone how important it is to have a well-trimmed well-shaped bush and keep them stripped back.
“Obviously she was talking about her actual garden and nothing naughty.”
Former Love Island star Curtis, 28, was more than happy to show off his derrière to celebrate the day in 2020.
The dancer, who has struggled with his weight, shared a picture on Instagram, leaving little to the imagination as he brandished a trowel.
He captioned it: “HAPPY INTERNATIONAL NAKED GARDENING DAY!”
Cheeky fans were quick to ask for a picture from the front so they could see everything.
Stunning model Emily, 32, is always showing off her incredible figure, including for World Naked Gardening Day.
But she doesn’t stop at her own garden. She’s shared snaps in the buff from across the world.
She used to joke she had taken the snaps for her former husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, before their 2022 split.
Emily reckons her travels in Europe have made her more comfortable with her natural form.
She told The Cut: “You see more women being openly sexual like it’s not a big deal, without them having to be over sexualized. They are celebrated.
“You see it on the beaches, daughters with their mothers. It’s not a big deal to see your mom naked. It’s actually quite normal.”
The former weather girl, 56, isn’t afraid to get her garden chores done in the buff when it’s sunny outside.
Ulrika shared a series of snaps of herself nude, bar a pair of wellies as she pushed a wheelbarrow about.
While the photos were shared to raise awareness of mental health, she may post a set this year for World Naked Gardening Day.
She’s also a regular nude sunbather to ensure she has no tans lines anywhere.
Actress Gwyneth isn’t afraid to flash the flesh when she’s enjoying her own garden.
The wellness brand owner, 51, seems to embrace her nude form and happily shares snaps of her frolicking in her ample estate.
She has also stripped naked to promote her products on Goop in a steamy shower video.
Gwyneth also posted totally nude except for gold paint for her 50th birthday, as she suddenly felt comfortable in her own body.
She said: “Turning 50 was the polar opposite. I was like, ‘I’ve never felt better in my own skin, and I don’t care if people think I’m attractive or not. I love myself.’ It’s a great feeling.”
QVC presenter Michael Perry is a huge fan of world naked gardening day as he is an avid plant lover.
He tells The Sun: “It’s the day of the year that gardens come alive, in more ways than one, as people might disrobe an item of clothing or two, all in aid of World Naked Gardening Day!
“Nobody quite knows how the first weekend in May became such a cause for celebration, although the event probably began in the Southern Hemisphere, since the first May isn’t always the warmest day to get your kit off in the UK!
“It’s all about body positivity, and an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, and we all know the benefits of that.
“I was involved with one of the very first naked gardening shoots at the Virgin Roof Gardens in Kensington, a group of guys which was later assembled as the “grubby gardeners”!
We followed in the footsteps of the Calendar Girls, as we soon released our first calendar, appeared on ITV Loose Women (wearing only a microphone belt), did a “naked skydive” in a morph suit, and various other challenges.
Over the course of 5 years, we turned a little bit of flowery fun, into a donation of way over £25,000 for Perennial, The Gardeners Royal Benevolent Society!
“In the last few years, I’ve ‘retired’ from most of my World Naked Gardening Day duties, but I can’t resist having a cheeky shoot each year. I’m really looking forward to seeing what else pops up on social media… literally!”
Michael posts a nude photo annually to celebrate the occasion and encourages his followers to do the same.
The Heart FM presenter, 53, is no stranger to posing without clothes, and she says she is often in the buff in her own garden.
Amanda doesn’t just garden naked, she’s also enjoyed a nude bounce on her daughter’s trampoline after a dare from her husband.
She shared the tale while discussing World Naked Gardening Day and issued a challenge to followers to copy her and have a clothes-free bounce.
She also opts to pose naked to celebrate her birthday, showing that getting older doesn’t make you any less sexy.
