KATY Perry and Orlando Bloom have been engaged for years, with friends and family likely wondering if their wedding will ever materialize.
A psychologist has weighed in on it all and claimed the Pirates of The Caribbean star’s adrenaline-inducing TV efforts reveal exactly where the “kooky couple” are at.
Orlando Bloom filmed To the Edge for himself rather than trying to compete with his partner, pop star Katy Perry, said a psychologist[/caption] Katy might find marriage too complex a subject for her to tackle with Orlando, said Jo Hemmings[/caption]Orlando’s TV series, Orlando Bloom: To The Edge, premieres tonight on Peacock.
The three-part mini-series shows the British actor mastering extreme sports and activities.
These include skydiving, rock climbing, and diving underwater without an air tank.
Orlando, 47, executive-produced the series and said shooting was challenging.
“I felt about as close to death as I could possibly get. Things could go wrong quickly,” he said in the trailer.
Psychologist Jo Hemmings suggested Orlando was focused above all on “pushing his boundaries.”
She claimed the adventure enthusiast was managing “threats of boredom” in his life.
“Orlando is stretching himself to his limits in a courageous and public way,” Hemmings told The U.S. Sun.
“But then Orlando and Katy have never been your average Hollywood couple.
“They both feel there are new areas of life to explore and boundaries to break, but individually.
“Katy and Orlando are similar in their need to be relevant, dynamic, and independent.

“But marriage might be too complex a subject for them to tackle.”
The couple’s relationship journey has not been smooth sailing.
Katy, 39, and Orlando were engaged in 2019, three years after meeting at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016.
When they split for a while in 2017, it was reportedly because of work pressures.
Their relationship has always been a little volatile. But this is not necessarily in the toxic sense.
Jo Hemmings
“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” said a rep.
After getting back together in 2019, Orlando, who shares a son, Flynn, 11, with ex Miranda Kerr, offered insight into their relationship.
“Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging — I won’t lie,” he told Flaunt magazine.

The couple welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in 2020, and no wedding was in sight.
Hemmings agreed their relationship seemed volatile but assured it was not “toxic.”
“Their relationship has always been a little volatile,” she said.
“But this is not necessarily in the toxic sense.
“While they do not always understand what each other is doing or why, they respect each other.
Katy will probably respect him all the more for it now than she may have done before.

“He has often said that they are very different people and that life together has challenges.
“They are a little kooky in how they live and present themselves to their fans.
“Orlando feels the need to push himself to a pretty out-there limit.

Orlando’s love life has never been far from the headlines. He has been known to gush about falling in love.
“I’m in love with love,” he said of his first high-profile relationship with actress Kate Bosworth in 2004.
“It’s heavenly when you’re falling for someone and can’t stop thinking about her,” he said.
After splitting with Kate, the British actor went on to date Lindsay Lohan and Penelope Cruz.
Orlando also enjoyed a brief dalliance with singer Selena Gomez.
To the Edge might make a big difference to Orlando’s self-esteem and confidence moving forward, according to an expert[/caption]Interestingly, the Lord of The Rings star has also been known to follow a unique daily routine.
Orlando once told The Times that he had to “earn his breakfast” by hiking beforehand and listening to “some Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots.”
Hemmings said Orlando’s adventurous filming efforts would make Katy feel “excited” about him.
“On the Edge is the perfect title in so many ways,” she said.
“This will all make Katy feel excited for him and about him.
Orlando is proving to himself and Katy that he is as able as he was in his 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
Jo Hemmings
“He is also approaching 50, a massive milestone for men.
“It’s a mid-life transition, and being middle-aged has to be recognized.
“He is ensuring that he keeps as healthy as possible, and Orlando is defying middle-age

Meanwhile, Katy appears in her final US Idol series while pregnancy continues to circulate.
In May 2023, an insider told The U.S. Sun that the Fireworks singer was “milling over” the future.
They claimed the star wanted to have more children and focus on her music career.
“I’m just trying to make space for other things,” Katy also told Entertainment Tonight.
Katy and Orlando have always been open and candid about their issues.
Jo Hemmings
“It’s not like me ending this show means I’m going to go retire on an island, even though that would be fabulous,” the star added.
Hemmings said the couple’s secret to a successful future together could lie in their transparency.
“The ups and downs of Orlando and Katy’s relationship have been well documented,” she added.
“They have always been open and candid about their issues.
“They have also not hesitated to talk about their deep connection and love for each other.”
