AN EASTENDERS fan has been left thrilled after an ‘unrealistic’ blunder in the Queen Vic is fixed a year on from their complaint.
The BBC soap has some die hard fans who pick up on details, big or small.
The drinks served in the Walford pub have caught some people’s attention over the years, and one EastEnders fan previously wrote: “Random but why is it that on eastenders whenever they serve drinks there is never any ice in the glasses – like these people are fake drinking vodka and tonic with no ice.”
But after watching the early release of tonight’s episode, which featured a scene between Jay Brown and Gina Knight, they tweeted their past post alongside a new comment.
It read: “I love how of late I see ice in glasses.”
Indeed, as Gina served Jay his drink, ice cubes were clearly visible in the glass.
However, some EastEnders fans will be more pleased to see Jay pay for his drink, after previously spotting a worrying pattern from landlady Elaine Peacock.
Elaine – played by Harriet Thorpe – arrived in Walford with partner George Knight and his two daughters last May.
The couple are now landlords of the pub alongside Elaine’s daughter Linda Carter, but EastEnders viewers are concerned she could be running the pub into the ground.
Elaine has been working hard to keep punters coming to the pub with a number of themed nights.
But she seems to be undoing all her good work by offering too many freebies to customers.
Taking to X – one wrote: “Does the Queen Vic ever make a profit? Always giving out drinks ‘On the house!'”
Another tweeted: “Stop giving away free drinks! No wonder the pub is dying on its arse!”
A third added: “Why do they give so many drinks away on #Eastenders Queen Vic gonna be out of business soon.”
EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
