A BARGAIN hunter has revealed his secrets to getting the best yellow sticker bargains at Marks & Spencer.
Charlie Webber, who posts as freeloading_chaz on TikTok, claims he is addicted to finding deals – including posh food reduced to under £1 – at M&S.
Charlie’s videos show him “stalking yellow sticker ladies for weeks” to figure out the best bargain hacks.
And he has now racked up over 15,000 followers who are dying to learn his tricks of the trade.
The TikToker claims the number one tip is to get the timing of your Bargain hunting correct.
While you can get some stickered goods when M&S first opens, as they’ve been stickered the night before, it’s not the best time to go.
Charlie says the store workers usually begin to put more yellow stickers on items between 3-4pm.
Speaking to MailOnline, he explained: “If you go around two hours before the store closes then you are likely to find what I call a double-yellow sticker – which are the best deals.
“My general rule is that if anything is under a pound I’ll get it.
“I think that might be a sign of addiction – even if I don’t like the food I can’t just leave it in the shop and I’ll give it to a friend.”
And as the rest of the country tucks into their dinner, M&S staff will be doing another round of discounts at roughly 6pm and will often reduce items already on sale.
The time supermarkets reduce their products vary across stores.
Here’s a rough supermarket-by-supermarket guide:
Aldi
Aldi uses a red sticker to show reductions on fresh products such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.
This is when they have reached the last day of shelf life.
Red stickered items are most commonly found at opening and closing times.
M&S
Reduction times can vary from store to store but is most likely to occur near closing time.
Asda
Asda told Which? that yellow stickers are applied twice a day – in the morning and evening.
Co-op
Co-op told The Sun its reduced-to-clear prices are generally applied about four hours before the store closes.
Lidl
Lidl has a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi with reductions twice a day.
However individual stores may opt to reduce prices throughout the day.
Morrisons
Shoppers online have said that Morrisons does the best bargains first thing in the morning.
However the store told Which? that there is no specific times for yellow sticker price cuts.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s told The Sun it’s at the store manager’s discretion whether to offer discounts.
However shoppers have reported that the best deals are in the evening from 6pm.
Tesco
Tesco has said there is no specific time for reduction, but again most people found that prices were reduced from 6pm.
Waitrose
As with most of the other stores, Waitrose shoppers have said the best reductions are found before closing.
However the store stated that there is no specific time for yellow stickers to be applied.
This means double the discount on some items.
Chaz gushed in a recent video: “If you can hold out till 8pm, that’s when you get triple yellow stickers….[which] are the very best deals to be had.
“They are freaking out that it’s not going to sell [and] they are practically giving it away.”
