FROM the iconic ‘You’re Fired’ line to those toe-curling tasks, we’re all familiar with BBC’s The Apprentice.
But some of this year’s contestants have revealed what really goes on behind the scenes – and it may just take viewers by surprise.
Phil spoke about the very first time contestants meet each other[/caption]Amina Khan, who is a pharmacist, took to TikTok and shared a video with several other contestants revealing some of the things that “you never knew” about the popular show.
In the clip, she begins: “We only have 20 minutes to get ready and that is the actual truth and we do wake up at 2am in the morning.”
She continued: “Also, Tim and Karen don’t follow you everywhere. They only follow you when you’re actually doing something wrong.”
Amina goes on to share that another unknown fact is that you are “chaperoned literally everywhere.”
She added: “Even when you go to the toilet….and you can’t speak to the public.”
Meanwhile, Rachel Woolford explained how something else viewers probably don’t know about The Apprentice is that you “definitely don’t have any phones, any access to the internet or any access to our families.”
She continued: “We can’t even message home.”
Contestant Flo Edwards went on to say that you also genuinely don’t know who has won when you walk to that boardroom – adding “that it’s as terrifying as it looks.”
And Tre Lowe noted that when you’re sat in the waiting room waiting to go in, it “takes forever.”
He explained: “You might want to go to the loo, you might want to go and phone a friend, you might want to go and ask the audience.
“But whatever you want to do you can’t do nothing but wait – and trust me that feels like your whole life is flashing in front of you.”
While another contestant revealed it takes about three hours to film a 60 second walking clip, Paul Midha admitted that he always thought that the boardroom was filmed in the Gherkin, but it’s actually a studio in North London.
He goes on to say that another fact that you didn’t know about The Apprentice is that in the house they all had to cook their own meals.
However, the contestant noted: “But we could never choose what to order so we kind of have to make what we were provided with.”
Elsewhere, Phil Turner went on to point out: “On the very first episode in the boardroom, that is the first time we’ve ever seen each other.
“Some people may or may not have bumped into each other auditions, but they certainly wouldn’t have spoken.
“So we meet each other for the very first time in front of Lord Sugar and it’s very very scary.”
