GEORGE Knight will be left devastated when his mum Gloria collapses next week in EastEnders.
The former professional boxer – who is played by actor Colin Salmon in the BBC soap – has turned his back on adopted mum Gloria after learning how she and husband Eddie kept the truth about his biological parents from him.
Gloria is desperate to keep her son – but also her racist thug of a husband[/caption]Viewers know Eddie killed George’s birth father with Gloria helping cover it up – and they both stopped him from meeting his birth mum before she died months ago.
Now next week George will be shocked when he receives a call from the CPS informing them that Gloria has given them information about Eddie before she arrives at The Vic and encourages George to testify.
However, later, George is angered when he overhears a clandestine phone call between Gloria and Eddie as it becomes apparent that she is unable to turn her back on him, and orders his mum out of his life once and for all.
Later in the week, George gets ready to testify at Eddie’s trial.
Meanwhile Cindy tries to convince George to talk to Gloria having secretly spoken to her, but George refuses.
But when George is summoned to the Boxing Den by Eddie, the thug tries to convince his adopted son not to testify and George snaps revealing Gloria encouraged him to testify.
In return Eddie issues a chilling threat.
George continues to shut Elaine out, before she joins forces with Cindy who arrives to force him to reveal all.
Elaine and Cindy convince George to testify against Eddie but when he is cross-examined by Eddie’s defence, Gloria shouts out in court much to the disgust of Eddie.
As the court breaks, Eddie glares at George and Gloria. Gloria struggles to contain her emotions and baulks from the court room before she collapses outside.
Later Gloria wakes in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and asks George to retrieve a box from her flat containing important information about his childhood.
Whilst at the flat, George is overwhelmed by his memories and breaks down.
George heads to the Boxing Den where he’s interrupted by Phil who has just learnt that Ben has been sentenced to six years.
Phil offers some words of advice and encourages George to go back to the hospital.
George and Gloria take a trip down memory lane as he joins her on the bed to listen to a recorded lullaby from George’s birth mother.
But will it be enough for the mother and son to move on?
