A TATTOO fan has shared a hilarious tip for making animal tattoos look more realistic.
Casper, who is the manager at a tattoo parlour shared her hack via a video posted to her TikTok channel @_spookytooth.
The New Yorker often uses the account to share content about the various tattoos she has covering her body.
Casper’s videos are very popular with social media users and she has racked up over 299,000 followers on the video sharing platform.
In the video, the heavily tattooed woman can be seen showing off her leg, which has an adorable racoon inked on the thigh.
Casper then takes a pink razor and begins to shave the hair off her legs.
However, she shaves around her raccoon tattoo, so the animal’s body remains hairy.
“Shaving my legs around my raccoon tattoo so he’s hairy”, she said.
Leaving the hair on the raccoon certainly made it look more realistic and Casper stroked the animal to show that she had given him a soft coat of “fur”.
Shaving over a tattoo is generally fine, but you shouldn’t do so until the tattoo is fully healed.
This is because you could end up cutting the tattoo, which could cause the ink to run and ruin the design.
In the video, Casper shaves using the method used by tattoo artists.
This involves shaving in short, gentle strokes in the direction of the hair to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs.
Casper’s video has clearly left many impressed, as it has amassed a whopping 13 million views.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on her shaving hack.
Many people shared their own hilarious hairy tattoos.
One user said: “How funny! I have a Freddy Krueger portrait on my leg.
“During the winter he gets a beard”.
Another user said: “I do this to my baby grinch tattoo too”.
A third user remarked: “I have a Johnny Depp tattoo from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegar and I regularly try to grow his hair and beard”.
A fourth person joked: “It’s a 3D tattoo now”.
Another person added: “That’s actually genius”.
