MARRIED At First Sight’s Peggy Rose and Georges Berthonneau annnounced their split today, devastating show fans.
But it appears there had been four clues of their secret separation before Peggy, 32, admitted, “I’m not ok,” in this morning’s post.
MAFS’ Peggy Rose and Georges Berthonneau annnounced their split today[/caption]Georges, 30, hinted he wasn’t in a relationship after he claimed that only single people go to the gym on Valentine’s Day.
He wrote on his Instagram Story: “Remember… go to the gym, especially if you’re single because surely everyone else in the gym on Valentine’s Day is going to be single. Maybe you’ll find yourself someone.”
He then shared a video of him walking while saying: “Time to go to the gym because the only person who is going to do it is me.”
The former IT professional maintained her silence, meanwhile.
That was until she wrote today: “I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet on socials everybody but there’s a reason for my silence.
“Me and Georges are no longer together and I’m absolutely heartbroken.
“It’s affected my mental health and it’s taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine’s Day, I can’t pretend to be OK.”
She signed off the post by thanking her followers for everything that they have done for them since shooting to fame on Married At First Sight.
Peggy added: “Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey…
“Nobody is more upset about it than me x.”
They were hit with split rumours in December when Peggy was out partying with her MAFS co-stars, and Georges was nowhere to be seen.
Their co-stars Erica Roberts and Jordan Gayle had previously dubbed their relationship ‘fake’.
Jordan told The Sun: “I just don’t believe Peggy and Georges as a couple.
“I didn’t believe in them at the time, and I know I said earlier about the editing not always being what it seems but, in Peggy and Georges’ case, it did seem accurate.
“Most people watching didn’t really understand them. I don’t understand how, as a couple, they always had a million problems, a million different problems, new problems every week, yet they were still happy enough to stay with each other.
“Surely, if you have that many problems as a couple, you wouldn’t be happy?
“But the reason why I feel like they could get through it, and be happy, is because they didn’t really care, so it’s not really a problem.”
Their split came just days after they revealed they’re planning to wed for real.
Georges told Closer: “The plan is to have children. Obviously we’ve got to stay together, move in together and get engaged.
“She lives at home, I live at mine. I’d have her move in with me, but she has so much stuff.”
