Masked Singer host Joel Dommett ‘gives away’ singer behind Piranha with cryptic message to star’s bandmate
THE MASKED Singer host Joel Dommett appears to have given away Piranha’s identity with a cryptic message.
Ever since Piranha’s first performance on the ITV show, viewers have been convinced McFly‘s Danny Jones is inside the costume.
Now, presenter Joel has added fuel to the fire with his latest social media activity.
Yesterday, Harry Judd shared a selfie with his bandmate Danny to Instagram after completing a 7k run.
But Joel commented, “BOYZBOYZBOYZZZZ,” suggesting he knows Danny, as he would if they had met on The Masked Singer.
Fans of the programme gussed it might be Danny following his rendition of Treasure by Bruno Mars last month.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, one fan said: “Piranha = Danny Jones from Mcfly (sounds like him and also does that Mcfly jump at the end!)”
Another added: “Danny’s voice is easy to point out and I can hear his Bolton accent when piranha speaks.”
Someone else wrote: “If Danny Jones isn’t Piranha, I’ll chuck all my McFly CDs away… you can’t deny that voice!”
And a fourth concluded: “I would know that voice anywhere!!”
Hailed by the judges as one of the “best singers of the series”, Piranha has certainly got everyone guessing.
Some viewers even think Coronation Street star Shayne Ward is underneath the blue costume.
As well as being an actor, the talented star is also a singer, and actually won The X Factor in 2005.
