IT looks like Sony is preparing to release some fancy new designs for the PS5 slim mere months after the console was released.
Three eye-catching colours were spotted at the CES show in Las Vegas this week, suggesting new plates could be launching soon.
The new PS5 was released in November and boasted a 30 per cent smaller size.
Sony also managed to bring the weight down by 18 per cent and 24 per cent compared to the original models.
The metallic colours seen at CES include blue, silver and red – or as Sony likes to call them, Cobalt Blue, Sterling Silver and Volcanic Red.
Matching controller colours are also available.
And if you think they look familiar, you’re not mistaken.
The trio were revealed for the original PS5 model late last year as part of PlayStation‘s new Deep Earth Collection.
Sony hasn’t given any indication when it plans to release the covers for its Slim model, nor do we know the price.
The PlayStation online store still only shows covers for the original Disc version and Digital version of the PS5.
Price wise, these plates came in at £49.99 / $54.99.
The Red and Blue were launched in November.
Anyone who wants the Silver for the original console will have to wait until January 26.
“While crafting this new collection of DualSense controller and PS5 console cover colours, we drew inspiration from the beautiful and powerful hues found in the depths of planet Earth,” designer Satoshi Aoyagi said at the time.
“We elevated the colours by adding a metallic finish for a touch of sophistication.”
