DREAMING of transforming your home but struggling for inspiration?
A creative couple have shared how they turned a derelict “wildcard” house into the perfect family home.

In the video, Chloe explained that the couple first moved into the house six years ago, which she said nobody else wanted to buy.
She said that she was looking for the “period dream home” but the house they bought was derelict and a “wildcard”.
Chloe said that her husband convinced her that they could turn the home, which had peeling plaster and ugly old furniture into something special.
The couple set about stripping the house of its carpets, wallpaper and furniture, knocked down walls to make the downstairs open plan and built an extension.
They turned cupboards into downstairs toilets and completely reconfigured the whole house.
The couple lived in the house with their two year old son for the whole of the renovation, even when it was “uninhabitable”.
In order to save money the couple did a lot of the work themselves, which they were able to do thanks to their 12 years of experience flipping houses.
Chloe and her husband aimed to have the project finished in 18 months, but after having another baby and losing a family member, they finally finished the project after six years.
The completed house looks unrecognisable, and Chloe said it is the “perfect family home”.
The back of the house is almost completely covered by an enourmous patio door that leads onto a sprawling patio, which is almost an extension of the house, perfect for “long summers living outside”.
In the living room, there is a stylish wood-burning stove to keep the family warm in the winter and in the kitchen is a giant kitchen island, perfect for socialising with friends.
Chloe said that her finished home is more than she “ever could have imagined”.
TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on the family’s renovation project.
One user said: “Stunning, I’m moving in”.
Another user said: “I needed this! About to start our house journey, I want it all done now but money puts a stop to it. Looks like it’s worth the wait though!”
