YOU’RE expecting me to talk about Premierisation, aren’t you?
That stuff is way above my pay grade, so I will sit and watch to see how it plays out.
I will say one thing, however — why would anyone want to go to Wolverhampton on a Sunday night?
These evening meetings may have great prize money, but it is a logistical nightmare for us trainers.
Who will be footing the bill for having stable staff working late into a Sunday? I think you already know the answer to that.
I do wonder who these meetings are truly for, because it does not feel like it is for the benefit of racing people.
Speaking of things you are probably expecting me to talk about — the weather is really taking the mick now.
I was looking forward to the likes of Authorised Speed and Spirit D’Aunou at Sandown today, but they will have to be rerouted.
Wincanton is on the ropes today too but hopefully that will get the green light as I have a pair of decent chances.
ANGEL’S DREAM (2.05) has been running well without winning this season and won’t mind the swamp-like conditions on offer.
Hopefully he can regain the winning thread alongside my golden oldie ICONIC MUDDLE (2.40).
I’ll be honest, I’m expecting him to need the run tomorrow, as he is entering the Grandad stage of his career.
He showed the fire still burns bright last season and there should be races to be won with him this season.
CEPHALUS (5.00) also runs at Southwell and I’m sure he is in lots of your trackers after his win last time.
He had some good form for Charlie Hills but had shown nothing for me until springing to life off a basement mark at Lingfield.
There was nothing clever about it, he is simply just a well handicapped horse returning to himself.
Finally, I also have a positive update on my son Jamie. He had his neckbrace come off on Thursday and is looking forward to getting back into the saddle pending a concussion test.
As always, be lucky.
