WHEN it comes to collecting cars, most collectors like to have a varied selection of motors from different marques.
But that’s not the case with a man putting his collection up for auction next month.
Steve Clinkinbeard is offering 15 Chevrolet Corvettes, but their similarity goes beyond just make and model.
All of the Corvettes are fourth-generation ‘C4’ models specifically, and all have fewer than 28,000 miles on the clock.

But the last stat is the best; they’re all painted red.
The 15 motors are being sold in the US by Mecum Auctions without reserve.
The C4 Corvette was built between 1984-1996 and this collection has a car from each and every year.
The advert reads: ‘The Red C4/ZR1 Collection has been housed in a heated warehouse, covered and routinely started and cared for over the years.’
Clinkinbeard reportedly fancied building the world’s best C4 collection, but they all had to be red.
His earliest model is a 1984 Corvette C4 with 17,500 miles on the clock, while the latest is a 1996 car with 23,000 miles.

Nine of the Corvettes are standard coupes, but the other six are ZR1 models, which are more desirbale.
The ZR1 had more power from its engine and came fitted with performance tyres and brakes.
This Corvette collection is going under the hammer with Mecum in Kansas City between 1-3 December.
