After a tough night of competition, Brazilian Beatriz and Londoner Brendan were eliminated, sending Jonny and Owen through to the next stage.
Host Gregg Wallace told Brendan it “wasn’t your day” while he said to Beatriz: “Thank you for introducing us to your flavours of Brazil. It was great.”
Earlier in the show, the quartet had to prepare and cook butterflied sardines in a tomato sauce served on toast.
They had 20 minutes to tackle the dish expertly demonstrated by Marcus.
While all four efforts were edible, none was perfect and the judging chefs pointed out errors with all the elements in each attempt.
