WAY back in September I said Liz Truss was making one big mistake. Which was not making immigration a priority.
It turned out that Liz made more than one mistake.
According to the BBC and other left-wing media, our Home Secretary should never have used ‘invasion’ to describe the illegal boats that are coming to our country[/caption]In fact, it’s hard to think of a mistake she didn’t make.
But my warning still holds. If the Government fails to get a grip on illegal immigration, then the public will not forgive them.
The polls already prove this.
In recent days, much of the media and chattering political class have been in a tizz over a single word. That word was “invasion”.
MORE ON THE MIGRANT CRISIS
According to the BBC and other left-wing media, our Home Secretary should never have used the word to describe the illegal boats that are coming to our country.
According to these activists, Suella Braverman is simply the latest in a long line of white-supremacist, neo-Nazi fascists.
You know, those ones who just want us to have a sensible immigration system of the kind we had till a few years ago.
Since the Home Secretary used “invasion” to describe the daily influx of thousands of law-breakers into our country, she has been panned from every direction. Except the public.
The public were neck-and- neck on the question of whether Braverman should have used the word.
Among Conservative voters, a full 76 per cent reckoned the word was fine.
But a majority of the public in every poll wants the Government to stop this illegal movement.
Still, these language debates are all that most of our politicians and media want to talk about.
Because otherwise they’d have to address the real issue. Which is how to stop the boats.
As it happens, it really isn’t difficult.
How do we know this? Because even a few years ago, this problem didn’t exist.
In December 2018, the then Home Secretary — another white-supremacist Nazi in the Left’s eyes, called Sajid Javid, cut short his Christmas holidays.
He did so because of the “emergency” of 200 migrants having crossed the Channel illegally over the previous two months.
Two hundred? That is a couple of just average hours these days.
But back then, as now, it was all just talk. The Government did not get on with deterring the boats.
Instead, they allowed the situation to just continue and grow. Instead of deterring the boats, they encouraged them.
In part by pretending the biggest problem was illegal migrants being unsafe in the Channel on rickety vessels.
In fact, that wasn’t the most important thing. Our politicians are not elected to make a priority of people who are not British.
And they are certainly not meant to make a priority of people who are breaking into our country illegally.
They are meant to represent us — the people of Britain. They are meant to protect us — and that begins with protecting our borders.
Because if you don’t have secure borders, you don’t have a country.
And if you just allow anyone who wants to break the law to come here then the problem grows and grows.
According to these activists, Suella Braverman is simply the latest in a long line of white-supremacist, neo-Nazi fascists[/caption] Our politicians are not elected to make a priority of people who are not British[/caption]It isn’t just the people of Dover and neighbouring communities who must have tens of thousands of illegals in their area.
It isn’t just the British taxpayers who have to pay hundreds if not thousands of pounds every day for every single illegal migrant who comes into our country.
It is the knock-on effect that all of this has.
Will the 10,000 Albanian men who have come to this country illegally this year be nice, decent citizens?
Or will many join criminal gangs and similar networks?
If you do not suffer the direct consequences of that, then good for you. But think of all the people who will. All because our politicians didn’t have the guts to do what needed to be done.
What is that? It is what we should have done years ago.
Turn the boats around. Turn them away. Make it undesirable to head out into the Channel.
Do not use British coastal vessels as a welcoming force. Use them as a repelling force.
Withdraw from the jurisdiction of the European court that rewards this law-breaking.
And ignore the voices that will inevitably scream madly all the time.
Voices like that of the former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
He loves to talk about how awful our Government is.
He never mentions the fact that he has been a paid lackey of the Albanian Prime Minister, writing soft-ball puff pieces about how wonderful Albania is.
We have an awful lot of such people in our country.
But Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Government needs to learn how to ignore them. Because the rest of us out-number them.
So Rishi, ignore the Twitterati, the BBC and their like and act for the British people.

That is what the Government is there for.
And if you don’t do it, then next time we have a say at the polls we will make our voice heard very loud and very clear.
