Cashback in general is a good habit to get into. While it may not have much impact on the price you pay now, by next year it could result in a nice savings pot for 2023.
SALE OR NO SALE: It is tempting to believe the big sale sticker – but always double check prices before you buy.
It is also worth having a quick look at Freecycle sites and sharing apps such as Olio to see if you can pick up what you are looking for there.
Parents might be giving away nearly new toys that could make a magical Christmas for your little ones.
I’ve seen lots of expensive items, such as bikes, being offered that their children have grown out of.
RESEARCH IT: Shopping around is crucial and doesn’t have to mean trawling through Google.

BE CAREFUL WITH CREDIT: Really think carefully before you put a present on credit.
It might be tempting now but if you can’t afford to pay it back, you could end up paying for it come January.
It is especially important this year with so much financial uncertainty.
If you are going to use credit, make sure you apply for a zero per cent spending deal and can pay it off before the interest-free period ends.
