THEY were the most famous five-piece in pop since the Spice Girls and now a reunion of The Saturdays could follow their example – by losing a band member.
In an exclusive interview with Bizarre, Una Healy revealed she is still hoping the girl group, who formed 15 years ago and had hits including Up, will return, even though Rochelle Humes told The Sun last year that she couldn’t “ever imagine doing that again”.
But Una, in the band with Vanessa White, Frankie Bridge and Mollie King, said she is open to returning as a four-piece, just as the Spice Girls did for their 2019 tour without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham.
The Irish singer said: “I would love to do something with the girls again. I’m ready for it, any time.
“If the phone call came to say, ‘You’re going back on tour in six months’, I’d be like, ‘Yes, absolutely, bring it on’.
“It would be best if it was all five. We always said that, if we were ever going to do anything again it would be very important that it’s all five of us. But if everybody isn’t on the same page and there is one that doesn’t want to do it or isn’t feeling it, they shouldn’t be forced into it.

“It is possible to do it without one member but I think if it was two or three, I don’t think The Saturdays would be The Saturdays.
“If there was one that didn’t want to, we wouldn’t force them into it and it’s their decision, but it would be so lovely if it was all five of us.”
Una returned on Friday with new solo single This Is Your Life, which has been 25 years in the making. Now she is raring to go with more fresh tracks.
She explained: “I am back feeling inspired again, which is great, because I found during lockdown, I had no inspiration whatsoever and no desire to write.”
She wrote her latest song when she was a teenager but recently revisited it and changed it.
Una continued: “A 15-year-old reflecting on life was very deep and philosophical at that age, but it was like I was journaling all of my feelings. I obviously had a strong feeling about my life and how hard it can be.”
Now she is in a “really good place” despite splitting from her boyfriend this year.
She added: “I’m very single at the minute and enjoying being single. I don’t have anyone else to worry about other than myself and the two children.
“Sometimes people feel like they have to have another half to be validated and it’s like, no you don’t, you’ve got to learn to love yourself and be whole as a human on your own.
“There are nights when I go to bed and I can stretch out without anyone sharing the bed or a leg annoying me.
“But there are nights where I’m like, ‘I would quite like an arm around me’. But I’m not desperate to meet anybody.”
GLASS ANIMALS single Heat Waves has set a record as the longest-charting song ever in the US.
It has racked up 91 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing the record of The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights, and leaving the British band’s frontman, Dave Bayley, in shock.
He said: “When I wrote this song I was writing about missing someone I loved very dearly.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think that it would lead to so much love and connection across the globe.”
CHRIS MARTIN has been secretly helping BTS band member Jin carve out a solo career.
The Coldplay frontman has had writing and recording sessions with the K-Pop singer.
Now they are expected to rush release a song they have worked on together after Jin confirmed he will take up compulsory military service in his homeland of South Korea.
The pair teamed up in the past when BTS featured on Coldplay’s 2021 single My Universe.
A source said: “Chris and Jin have had a number of writing sessions for Jin’s solo career.
“They really hit it off musically and the tracks are great.
“Chris is a huge fan of him both personally and professionally.”
The Coldplay frontman admitted in 2021 that he never thought his group’s BTS collaboration would come off after the seven-piece boyband made the first move.
After a lot of planning, Coldplay eventually managed to organise a trip to Korea where they were able to meet face to face.

LEWIS CAPALDI topped the charts with his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent and the follow-up is even more of a mouthful.
The Scottish superstar has announced that his eagerly awaited record will be titled Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, although fans will have a wait to hear it as it won’t be out until May 19 next year.
He said of the collection: “I don’t want to create a new sound or reinvent myself. The songs I want to write are emotional songs, about love or loss. I’m ready and so are the songs.”
Before the release he will embark on a 32-date UK and European tour, kicking off on January 14 in Leeds.
There are high expectations given that his debut album sold more than ten million copies worldwide, was named the biggest selling UK album of both 2019 and 2020 and landed him a No1 hit in the US with Someone You Loved.
His new music is already proving popular, with the first single Forget Me shooting straight to No1.
Despite his huge success, he has kept things simple with his second record, recording it on his laptop.
He said: “I felt like I was sounding better because I was just chilled out in my own gaff. Also, a lot of this record was made with most of the same people who I worked with on the first .”

LILY JAMES’s music career hasn’t got off to the chart-topping start she may have hoped for.
I told how she had teamed up with DJ Yoda for two tracks, and the first one was released last week to little fanfare.
The song, Breathe, has only racked up just over 2,000 views on YouTube in more than a week.
It will feature on DJ Yoda’s album Prom Nite, which is out next month, so she’ll be hoping that shifts a few more copies.
He said of the song: “Lily used to live downstairs from me and we always talked about making some music together.
“It wasn’t easy with her insane schedule, but we eventually made it happen.”
SHE has been one of the breakout stars of the year but Self Esteem is looking for a different sore-se of inspiration for her next record.
The singer was nominated for last night’s Mercury Prize for her album Prioritise Pleasure and said she has already started writing the next one.
Speaking on the red carpet before the ceremony at the Eventim Apollo in West London, she told me: “I had a cold sore so they sat me in the house for a week where I couldn’t be seen because I did look awful.
“I wrote three songs that week, so if I can have enough time off I’ll be fine.”
Asked if one would be inspired by her cold sore, she added: “It might be.”
On her nomination, she said: “All I ever wanted to do was get nominated. I feel like Billy big bollocks now and I always felt like nothing.
“Awards shouldn’t be validating me so much. But this one does because it’s THE prize.”
Rock duo Nova Twins were also among the 12 nominees, alongside Sam Fender, Harry Styles and Little Simz, for the award which honours the best British album of the last 12 months.
But band member Georgia South had a disaster there.
She said: “About half an hour ago I was in my outfit eating a beetroot salad and spilt it all over my trousers. I’ve been scrubbing to get the stain out.”
Jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie was nominated for his record Forest Floor but it isn’t his first brush with fame.

Asked about the worst job he’s had, he said: “I once played background piano at a wedding and that was quite intense because I couldn’t hear what I was playing for everyone talking.
“It actually was a celebrity wedding so I shouldn’t say whose it was.”
