The five-time winner came 20th in the ranking while his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema clinched the trophy.
Meanwhile, United have reportedly sent scouts to watch AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
Leao, 23 has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea but the Red Devils could be willing to snatch him up instead.
Elsewhere, United could also be back in with a move for PSV star Cody Gakpo, with a potential January move on the cards for the in form winger.
