DEAR DEIDRE: SINCE she moved into her flat, I have spent a fortune on my 31-year-old daughter, but she is so ungrateful.
I’m her 55-year-old mum. She has two younger teenage siblings who I treat to a big gift on their birthdays.
My daughter says I should get her an expensive present too, even though I have tried explaining that I get their benefits money and treat them with it.
I’ve bought my daughter a washing machine, bed linen, crockery, cutlery and gave her money on her birthday.
I paid her car insurance and gave her money when she went on holiday.
I never ask for the cash back.
If she spends as much as a pound on me she’ll make sure I pay her back.
I’ve tried to explain but she won’t listen.
It hurts me and I’m fed up.
Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.

DEIDRE SAYS: I’m not surprised. She sounds entitled but if she doesn’t learn to show any gratitude, it would be prudent to stop giving her money.
She will hopefully start to get the message and might even thank you.
Tell her how her behaviour is making you feel. My support pack, Standing Up For Yourself, will help.
