CORONATION Street fans are baffled as Alya Nazir uncovers new evidence in Stu Carpenter’s case which was missed by detectives.
The former homeless man is behind bars as he is accused of murdering his former lover Charlie.
But the Nazir family are determined to clear his name and have paid for his case files to find something that might prove he is innocent and being framed.
In Wednesday’ s episode, Alya came across something suspicious.
The cause of Charlie’s death was listed as a blunt trauma to the head.
But there was no record of blood on her body or internal injuries.
Could the body have been moved in an attempt to frame someone?
Adam told Alya: “You might be onto something there. Keep digging.”

However, fans are confused how the police and detectives could have missed this and Alya – with no law background – was able to find it.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “How can Alya come up with something in 5 minutes but everybody else on Stu’s case failed to spot?”
Another wrote: “Alya is suddenly a legal expert finding evidence that the real experts missed.”
A third penned: “30yrs on and detective Alya busts the case wide open.”
Yasmeen has allowed Stu to move back at No.6.
She told Stu she believes he’s innocent and insisted that he must let Bridget know his intentions to appeal his conviction.
But not everyone is pleased about Stu’s return.
He was met with hostility from Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter.
They said he didn’t belong on the street, but Yasmeen stood her ground and told him to bring his bags inside.
