THE Kardashian family has a hold on more than television and shapewear – Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian, and sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, all have their own business ventures.
One YouTube star tried the family’s socks, shoes, shapewear, and skincare, then reported back on what’s worth the money.
On YouTube, where she has over 8million subscribers, Alisha Marie McDonal unboxed products from all the available Kardashian family brands.
“I’ve purchased some things from some of the brands before,” McDonal admitted, but others – like Kendall Jenner’s tequila and the recipes from Kourtney’s blog Poosh – were new to her.
McDonal also recorded her video before the official launch of Kylie Swim, Kylie Baby, and SKKN by Kim, so she wasn’t able to try those brands.
She started off with an order from Kylie Cosmetics. A longtime fan of Kylie’s lip kits, McDonal ventured into new territory with lip glosses and blush.

“I ordered a few things,” she said as she unboxed her purchases. But the very first blush she opened had shattered in transit.
“It’s okay, I don’t like peachy colors anyway,” McDonal said, keeping a good attitude.
The lip gloss smelled just like the lip kits, a warm vanilla flavor, and McDonal liked the new products just as well as the lip kits.
“I think this is such a good business move for her,” she said.
Next, McDonal tried out Kylie Skin, and openly wondered how the skincare products would stack up against those already in her rotation.
She purchased a travel set with toner, vitamin c serum, face moisturizer, and a foaming face wash, as well as a full-size coconut body lotion.
McDonal said that the products seemed to be a more expensive version of the budget brands she used regularly, but they might meet other customers’ skincare needs.
And Kylie’s branding won McDonal’s heart, when other celebrity skincare lines did not.
“I’ve never been inclined to try anyone’s except for hers,” the YouTube star admitted.
The blogger was also impressed with Kim’s now-discontinued lines, KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance.
While the brands were rumored to be relaunching under the SKKN by Kim label, they haven’t made a triumphant return just yet.
Luckily, McDonal had another Kim Kardashian brand to try: SKIMS.
She already owned and loved shapewear from the brand, but purchased a bralette and panty set in a slate blue color.
Her verdict: one half of the set was great.
“I have to say, I think I’ll be repurchasing this bralette,” McDonal said, modeling for the camera.
“The underwear…I don’t know,” she said, inspecting the fit on her waist and backside. “This is just not my thing.”
Moving on, McDonal cracked open a bottle of Drink 818, Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand.
Named after the Kardasians’ Calabasas area code, Kendall’s brand joins the “boys club” of celebrity alcohols.
“I love that she’s getting into a very male-dominated space,” McDonal said.
“I like the vibe of it, I like the look of it,” she said before taking a swig.
The blogger was pleased with the drink, and its price point.
“I didn’t need a chaser. Super smooth,” she said. “The fact that this is $45, I am super impressed by.”
In other words, Kendall’s alcohol brand can easily compete with Dan Aykroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka, George Clooney’s Casamigos, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Teremana Tequila.
Kourtney Kardashian doesn’t sell her own products, but instead sells a lifestyle with her blog, Poosh. In keeping with that concept, McDonal tried a recipe from the website.
The Poosh avocado smoothie recipe is beloved by fans, and super simple.
McDonal blended together an avocado, plant-based milk, protein powder, maca powder, MCT oil, Wild Greens Supreme powder, and dates.
“Oh my God. That’s so sweet,” McDonal said after her first sip. “This is so good. Flavor: 10 out of 10.”
Despite the delicious flavor of the smoothie, McDonal said, she couldn’t give Poosh a perfect score – it just wasn’t her favorite Kardashian brand.
“I don’t think it’s bad,” she explained. “I’m just not the main demo for it.”
That’s also how she felt about Arthur George, Rob Kardashian’s sock brand.
McDonal ordered the brand’s signature product, socks with quirky sayings on the bottom.
She ordered “Classy B***h” socks, but also received the “Love My Hubby” socks, which she thinks were sent by mistake.
The YouTube star was openly confused about Rob’s choice to start the brand.
“I don’t know if this was a passion project, or him wanting to have something since all his sisters are super successful,” she admitted.
“I do think it’s a really cute his and hers gift. It’s great quality,” she added.
But even though she “felt bad” for Rob, McDonal said, she “would never repurchase this again.”
Finally, McDonal reviewed Good American, Khloe’s iconic clothing brand.
She paired the brand’s pants, which she already loved, with a pair of new, translucent heels from the company.
“I feel like I own a billion-dollar company,” she said, sliding on the see-through stilettos. “They’re more comfortable than I thought.”
She added that the shoes were a little over her normal budget, but the leather pants were perfect.
“These bad boys, worth every penny,” she said, modeling the black, faux-leather pants.
Then, it was time for McDonal’s rankings. She regretfully issued the last-place spot to Arthur George, apologizing to Rob as she did so.
Poosh was in the second-to-last spot, bested by KKW Fragrance, Kylie Skin, Drink 818, and Kylie Cosmetics.
The third place spot went to KKW Beauty, which McDonal said includes many products that were “staples” of her makeup routine.
Then, she ruled on a battle between Khloe and Kim.
“The runner up is…” McDonal said, pausing for effect. “…SKIMS!”
Good American – and its leather pants – won her heart, but knowing the Kardashians, another brand could pop up to take its place.
