HAVE you ever been on a first date where the other person wouldn’t stop chewing with their mouth open?
Whether you’re on a date, at a business dinner, or with your family, eating etiquette always leaves people with an elegant impression.
Etiquette expert Winifred Nwania posted a TikTok covering the six things you shouldn’t do when you’re eating at a table with other people.
While this may seem normal, Winifred says you should never blow on hot food.
If your food is steaming, wait for it to cool down on your utensil before putting it in your mouth.
This prevents you from accidentally blowing or spitting on someone else’s food.

One viewer wasn’t too pleased with this rule.
“So what do I do when the food is hot and I’m famish,” they commented.
When you are eating, don’t chew loudly.
Not only is this impolite, but this can also be offputting for others eating around you.
Licking your utensils is offputting and unacceptable as well, according to Winifred.
While other people are having conversations around you, make sure you aren’t making noises with your utensils.
Winifred says: “Don’t make sounds with your plate.”
While this may go without saying, some people still need to be reminded that talking with too much food in your mouth is not a sign of elegance.
Finally, Winifred says that picking up your plate from the table to bring it closer to your face when eating is not polite.
Frustrated and confused with having to have patience when eating, viewers took to the comments.
One wrote: “Okay! let’s just agree..it’s settled I should not eat!”
