A LOVE Island producer has opened up about the weirdest item that is BANNED from appearing behind-the-scenes on the show.
Pancho Cavaller, who is location manager on the ITV2 dating programme, explained that staff are prevented from wearing certain types of SHOES while they are at work.
Speaking to Reddit, Pancho revealed Crocs are BANNED for those working in the Love Island crew as they have to wear “proper shoes”.
Showing off the production cabins nearby the villa, the locations’ manager – who has been with the show since it’s debut in 2015 – explained there are a number of regulations to follow.
“We are here to work,” he said, standing in the sweltering Spanish sunshine. “We need to wear the proper shoes and proper clothes.
“The Crocs, for example – they are not allowed here.”

Fans were left in hysterics by the bizarre admission – and took to the Reddit comments section to dub the banned shoes as “Croc Gate”.
“Croc gate is real!” one wrote, as a second chimed in alongside a laughing emoji: “Giving out about the crocs.”
“No Crocs? I’m out,” a third joked, as a fourth chimed in to gush over the manager: “Pancho really has such ‘cool dad on holiday’ vibes.”
It comes after a former contestant opened up about the “crazy” items that Islanders are BANNED from using in the villa.
Jack Keating – who was dumped from the show following Casa Amor last week – took to Instagram to spill the behind-the-scenes secret.
Jack, 23, who is the eldest son of singer Ronan Keating, left the villa after just one week of action on the ITV2 show.
Taking to his Instagram stories for a tell-all Q&A, Jack told his fans about three items that Islanders are barred from bringing in.
“What was the worst part about the villa,” one of his followers had asked, as he told his fans to “not be shy” with their questions.
Everything you need to know about Love Island
“There wasn’t really any bad parts, I loved it, but the craziest part is not having a watch, not having a phone and so not knowing the time,” Jack explained in a video response.
Sitting on his sofa at home in a dark t-shirt and baseball cap, he continued: “It was definitely crazy, we had some late nights and some very early mornings.”
It comes after Jack was spotted with his fellow Love Island co-stars at the airport after they were dumped from the show.
Posing in a video together by a plane, the girls could be heard chanting to the camera: “See you soon England.”
Reposting the airport photos, Jack told his fans: “[Love Island] was a sick experience for my first holiday abroad.”

The Casa Amor lad went on to defend Gemma Owen, saying: “She doesn’t bulls*** and she’s funny. Gemma is a real one, you know.”
After returning to London, he chatted with his fans in an Instagram story, saying: “Literally just got back to the UK after the most crazy couple of days in Casa Amor.
